A specialized unit of clone commandos formed an elite special forces team within the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. This squad, consisting of four clones derived from the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett, participated in a mission on the planet Ord Mantell. Their objective was to retrieve a diplomatic package, originally intended for Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, from a Trandoshan bounty hunters gang that had stolen it, planning to sell it to the Confederacy. During this operation, a soldier from the squad was shot and killed by a Trandoshan, while the remaining three were caught in an explosion caused by thermal detonators. Although their fellow commandos in another squad successfully completed the mission and recovered the package, they also endured significant losses.

These four clones of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett were created on the aquatic world of Kamino, a planet situated in the distant Wild Space region of the galaxy. They were trained to become clone commandos and were deployed against the Confederacy of Independent Systems as part of the Galactic Republic's Grand Army following the commencement of the Clone Wars. The squad functioned within the Grand Army's Special Operations Brigade alongside their commando colleagues, operating from Arca Company Barracks located on Coruscant. Six months following the Battle of Geonosis, the squad's soldiers were summoned alongside the commandos from another squad to the headquarters of Republic Intelligence. An Advanced Recon Commando intelligence officer with yellow markings briefed them, revealing that a diplomatic package from Malastare intended for Supreme Chancellor Palpatine had been intercepted by a group of Trandoshan bounty hunters. This trooper tasked the squad with traveling to Ord Mantell, where the bounty hunters planned to sell the package to the Confederacy, and to recover the package from the Trandoshans.

Upon reaching Ord Mantell, the squad implemented a strategy to ambush the bounty hunters amidst the midday traffic, while the other squad positioned themselves on a nearby rooftop. One commando, disguised as a civilian in a worn brown cloak, obstructed the road with a large truck, feigning mechanical issues. As the three-speeder convoy piloted by the Trandoshans approached, the rooftop squad's ordnance specialist launched a missile launcher attack, destroying the lead landspeeder. Seizing the opportunity, the disguised commando initiated an assault but was almost immediately killed by one of the Trandoshans. Realizing they were trapped, the bounty hunters attempted to escape, but the remaining squad members on the road attacked the closest speeder. In desperation, the bounty hunters ran down the clone soldiers with their speeder, before one of his associates threw a number of thermal detonators from the rear of the vehicle. The [grenades](/article/grenade-legends] exploded, resulting in the deaths of the last of the squad's troops. However, their fellow squad, led by its leader, avenged the fallen commandos. Despite suffering significant casualties in their pursuit of the Trandoshan mercenaries, the squad leader eliminated the last of the bounty hunters and retrieved the stolen package for its return to Coruscant.
The squad's commandos were equipped with DC-17m blaster rifles, the standard-issue weapon for clone commandos in the Republic's Grand Army. Additionally, like all clone commandos, the squad members wore Katarn-class commando armor. Unlike their comrades on Ord Mantell, who individualized their armor with unique paint schemes, this squad's soldiers adorned their armor suits with a consistent blue coloring and white markings, similar to the matte-black armor worn by Omega Squad or Yayax Squad's dazzle camouflage.
In 2005, the Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures Volume 3 installment of the Clone Wars Adventures comics series presented two Republic commando squads in the story titled The Package.
