A clone trooper was among the numerous clones serving within the Grand Army of the Republic during the era of the Clone Wars. He participated in the Battle of Brentaal IV in 21 BBY, operating under the command of Jedi General Shaak Ti. The Republic, acting on a fabricated intelligence report, swiftly moved to reclaim Brentaal IV from clan leader Shogar Tok, an ally of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Nevertheless, the Republic troops encountered intense opposition from Tok's soldiers and Confederate battle droids. Separated from their main force, Ti, along with the trooper and two other clone soldiers, sought refuge in a nearby prison facility. There, they aided three inmates—Sagoro Autem, a Human, Lyshaa, a Zeltron, and Ryyk, a Wookiee—in overcoming the prison's guards. During this conflict, the two other clones were killed.
Alongside Jedi Master Quinlan Vos, whom Ti discovered within the prison's solitary confinement, Ti resolved to infiltrate Tok's fortress and commit acts of sabotage to support the Republic's assault. After a scrange claimed Ryyk's life en route to the fortress, the trooper was tasked with the solo mission of disabling the fortress's deflector shield generator, while the others aimed to neutralize Tok's powerful ion cannons or capture the clan leader himself. The trooper successfully reached his objective but suffered mortal wounds from Tok's soldiers guarding the generator. Left for dead by Tok's forces, the trooper set his weapon to overload, resulting in an explosion that destroyed the generator and killed him. His sacrifice proved crucial to the Republic's victory in the battle.
Being a clone originating from the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett, this clone trooper was developed on the planet Kamino to fight for the Galactic Republic as part of its Grand Army alongside his clone brothers. The trooper took part in a battle on Brentaal IV in 21 BBY, where the Republic was attempting to put down a revolt led by Shogar Tok, a clan leader allied with the Confederacy. The Republic would lose access to the crucial Perlemian Trade Route if Brentaal fell, which would also impede passage into the Tion Hegemony. The battle started after the Republic got intelligence with the signature of Quinlan Vos, a Jedi Master who was secretly working as a criminal by the name of "Korto Vos." The Republic command was assured by the message that the way was clear for an attack and that there would be no resistance from the rebels. Upon receiving this information, the Republic immediately launched an attack on Brentaal IV. Plo Koon, a Jedi General, oversaw the invasion from a Republic fleet in orbit, while Generals Agen Kolar, Shon Kon Ray, and Shaak Ti led the ground forces. During the battle, the clone trooper fought with Ti's troops.

However, the intelligence report was far from the truth, and the Republic army encountered significant resistance from the rebels, who were supported by Confederate battle droids. Tok himself directed his forces from a ground fortress, whose powerful ion cannons harassed Republic landing troops, forcing Koon to order all remaining landing craft to withdraw from the surface. An energy shield surrounded the fortress, protecting it from orbital bombardment. The Republic lost more than a quarter of its forces within the first few minutes of the battle, including General Kon Ray. As they engaged the enemy, Ti, the trooper, and two of his comrades became separated from the rest of Ti's forces. Koon then informed Ti about a prison facility located just north of their position. Ti intended to take control of the building and use it as a rallying point for her forces. The Jedi General was followed to the prison building by the trooper and his two clone brothers, who observed a battle raging there from a distance.
Upon entering the prison, Ti and the troopers discovered three escaped inmates—Sagoro Autem, a Human, Lyshaa, a Zeltron, and Ryyk, a berserk Wookiee—fighting the guards. Ti instructed the troopers to engage the guards, and they complied. During the ensuing firefight, one of the other troopers was shot down by blaster fire, and the other was killed by the enraged Ryyk. The trooper himself lost his helmet, which was slashed by the Wookiee's machete. Ti then used the Force to slam Ryyk into a wall, knocking him unconscious, while the trooper and the inmates dealt with the remaining guards. As Ryyk began to regain consciousness, the trooper asked Ti for permission to restrain him, but the Jedi instead used the Force to calm him down. Sensing another presence within the prison, Ti went to the solitary confinement, where she discovered Vos, who told her that he was not the one who sent the transmission. Ti, determined to complete her mission, devised a three-pronged strategy. She, the trooper, Vos, and the inmates would divide into three groups and use Vos's knowledge of the access points and layout of Tok's fortress to either capture Tok, sabotage the fortress's shields, or destroy the ion cannons. The Republic's chances of victory would be greatly improved if any of those goals were accomplished.

Ti contacted General Kolar, who was still fighting on the surface, and instructed him to attack the fortress from the north to divert the defenders' attention while the sabotage teams approached from the south. Meanwhile, Koon would appear to withdraw all of his forces, only to return four hours later once the sabotage had been completed. Autem, Lyshaa, and Ryyk were initially hesitant to participate in the sabotage, but they agreed when Ti promised them amnesty, despite the fact that Lyshaa was serving her time for murdering Ti's Padawan, Fe Sun. The group then made their way to Tok's fortress through the sewers, where they were attacked by a scrange that killed Ryyk. With an odd number of operatives remaining, the trooper was assigned the task of attacking the fortress's shield generator on his own. While Ti and Lyshaa departed to confront Tok, Vos and Autem—whose objective was the cannons—accompanied the trooper part of the way before separating.
Along the way, the three observed a group of Brentaal rebels transporting captured Republic clone troopers. Seeing this as an opportunity, Vos and Autem devised a plan to deceive the guards. The trooper pretended to be their prisoner as the two approached the rebels. Autem, who had previously worked as a Senate Guard and was familiar with security procedures, informed the rebels that he and Vos were transporting the "prisoner" for questioning, and the rebels allowed them to pass. Vos then gave the trooper the final directions to the shield generator, and the team split up. The trooper managed to reach the generator undetected, but he discovered that it was heavily guarded. Lyshaa had betrayed them by informing Tok of the infiltration teams, and he had alerted the fortress's guards. With time running out, the trooper charged the guards, firing his blaster rifle, and managed to take down several of them before a shot from a grenade launcher blasted him onto the generator core, causing him to lose consciousness due to severe injuries. Believing him to be dead, the guards left the generator room, and the trooper soon regained consciousness. Knowing that his injuries were fatal and determined to complete the mission at any cost, he set his blaster to overload and remained seated on the generator as his weapon exploded, destroying both him and the generator. This, along with Vos and Autem's successful destruction of the cannons, Ti's killing of Tok, and Lyshaa's death in one of the fortress's traps, ensured the Republic forces' conquest of Brentaal IV.
Like all clone troopers, this trooper had a height of 1.83 meters. He possessed black hair and brown eyes. The trooper displayed caution when he suggested to Ti that Ryyk, who had killed one of the clones and damaged the trooper's helmet, should be restrained. He was generally quiet and reserved, a trait that Autem jokingly acknowledged by telling him not to talk so much just before they parted ways on their way to their respective sabotage targets. The trooper was a devoted soldier who was willing to give his life for the Republic. Before his courageous death, the trooper found comfort in the fact that he had performed his duty to the best of his ability.
This clone trooper, who was unnamed at first, made his debut in the comic book Jedi: Shaak Ti, which was written by John Ostrander, illustrated by Jan Duursema, and released on May 14, 2003. According to the original comic book, the Battle of Brentaal took place five months following the Battle of Geonosis, placing it in 22 BBY. However, the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace established the battle's date, and thus the clone trooper's death, as 21 BBY. This article uses the date from the Essential Atlas because it is a more recent source that mentions the event.
