A Devaronian was an inhabitant of the planet Dantooine, specifically in the oldest settlement, where he was seen inside a public house circa 381 BBY. At this time, Marda Ro, the Evereni who established the Nihil (a pirate group), came to the settlement during hunt searching for members of her own species. The Devaronian provoked Ro by getting too close, and she responded by throwing beer from her mug at him. This encounter was later documented by Ro in a message intended for her descendants. Years later, by 252 BBY, Marchion Ro, her great-great-grandson, recalled this particular incident with the Devaronian from Ro's journal during his younger years.
This Devaronian's appearance was in a flashback sequence of the short story "A Closed Fist Has No Claws," authored by Tessa Gratton. This story was included in the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project within the 2023 young-adult anthology book, The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life.
