A captain, belonging to the Ufsa family of the Chiss Ascendancy and a Chiss himself, was in charge of an excursion liner that the Boadil family possessed, sometime prior to 19 BBY. Disregarding warnings from the engineers about the potential interference of magnetic fields with the electronics, the captain piloted the liner dangerously close to a gas giant, resulting in the vessel being trapped within the planet's gravity well. Senior Commander Mitth'raw'nuruodo, known by his core name as "Thrawn," along with the help of Senior Captain Irizi'ar'alani "Ziara", rescued the liner and its eight thousand passengers, but the rescue came at the expense of the liner's external luxury wings. Given the close alliance between the Ufsa and Boadil families, the Boadil directed their frustration over the damaged wings towards Thrawn, which resulted in him losing command of his ship, the Boco.
This captain's story was recounted in flashbacks within Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, a 2020 novel and the initial book in Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy by Timothy Zahn.
