A male human pretending to be Luke Skywalker, an operative of the Rebel Alliance, existed in the galaxy during the Imperial Era; he was an impostor. In the year 3 ABY, inside a cantina, he bragged about his supposed feats of destroying the Death Star, hoping to deceive the bar's patrons and get a job as a pilot. To those who doubted him, he suggested they ask his astromech droid, Ardee, for confirmation, as she was present and managing the targeting computer. However, shortly thereafter, the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, used a Force choke on the man, killing him. Darth Vader let the cantina's other patrons live, stating he wanted them to witness that "claiming the name of Luke Skywalker also claims his crimes against the Empire".
The impostor had light skin and blond hair, which he let grow out to copy Skywalker's appearance. He wore sunglasses to conceal his cybernetic left eye and even acquired an astromech droid companion to easily make money. The man was a boastful deceiver, but when the Sith Lord Darth Vader appeared before him, he apologized and tried to excuse his actions, but the Sith Lord killed him regardless.
The Luke Skywalker impostor made an appearance in Star Wars (2020) 5, a comic published by Marvel Comics on August 5, 2020. Charles Soule wrote the comic, and Jesús Saiz, Arif Prianto, and Dan Brown provided the illustrations.
