Unidentified mining corporation

A mining operation had previously established a settlement located on the world known as Codia I's satellite.

History

To extract gemstones from the substantial deposits situated on the tidally locked satellite's illuminated side, a mining company constructed a base on the world Codia I's moon. Sometime in the period spanning from 44 BBY to 32 BBY, a band of criminals used a non-incendiary photonic charge to sabotage the power generator while attempting to pilfer a shipment of diamonds. The photonic blast interacted with the primarily accelerite generator, resulting in strange radioactivity that suppressed the entire light spectrum within the base.

The majority of the company's miners were moved to the barracks, but the Defel miner named Rosack Denahst displayed a sensitivity to the radiation and entered a state of madness, ending the lives of at least five of the burglars after the criminals had killed five other miners. The Jedi Knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi were dispatched to investigate the darkened base, and while Kenobi initially considered the possibility that the corporation had acted prematurely in establishing a base in an unsafe area, the pair ultimately discovered the truth and repaired the generator, restoring light to the base and Denahst's sanity. Around 0 BBY, Kenobi reflected upon this event and documented the corporation in his personal writings while taking shelter in his residence on the planet Tatooine during a dust storm.
