A miner and his relatives possessed several munka mines located on the planet Tatooine. These mines were highly sought after by competing crime lords Jabba Desilijic Tiure and Lady Valarian in the time leading up to the Battle of Endor. Before Jabba the Hutt abducted the miner and demanded a ransom, the Whiphid Valarian had spent years attempting to persuade the family to relinquish ownership of the mines.
