Whiphid

Sentient creatures of large stature, known as Whiphids, were a species of bipeds covered in dense fur. A defining characteristic was a pair of sizable ivory tusks extending upwards from their lower jaws. Their origin planet was Toola, a world locked in perpetual ice. J'Quille and Valarian are examples of Whiphids.

Biology and appearance

Bipedal in form and substantial in build, Whiphids were distinguished by their thick, shaggy fur coats. This natural insulation shielded them from the extreme cold of their ice and snow-covered environment. A spinal column formed part of the Whiphid skeletal structure. Their faces, largely devoid of hair, featured retractable eyes, prominent foreheads, and curved cheekbones. The most striking feature was the two large ivory tusks that grew upwards from the lower jaw. Younglings had less fur compared to their older counterparts. J'Quille, a fully grown male, was recorded as being two meters in height. Their ivory tusks were a sought-after material across the galaxy.

Whiphids in the galaxy

In the time leading up to the Clone Wars, a young Whiphid named Jempa was undergoing training to become a Jedi initiate at the Jedi Temple situated on Coruscant.

During the era of the Galactic Civil War, the Whiphid crime lord Valarian conducted her operations on Tatooine, located within the Outer Rim Territories. J'Quille, a fellow Whiphid and her romantic partner, managed to infiltrate the palace of Jabba the Hutt, her rival.
