Toola, a planet of ice and snow, existed in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy and was the original homeworld for two distinct groups: the sentient Whiphid species, and the enormous mastmots which served as beasts of burden. During the Clone Wars, clone cold assault troopers of the Galactic Republic were stationed on this icy sphere, and Jedi Master Quinlan Vos incorrectly thought a Separatist base was located there. The Whiphid bounty hunter J'Quille, who was male, was a native of Toola.
The initial mention of Toola occurred in Galaxy Guide 4: Alien Races, a Star Wars Legends sourcebook for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game from 1989 that Troy Denning authored. Its status as canon was established through its inclusion in Ultimate Star Wars, a reference work created by Patricia Barr, Adam Bray, Daniel Wallace, and Ryder Windham, which saw its release on April 28, 2015.
