A race of sentient arachnids, originating from the planet Uro, were considered to be native to that world. Due to their inherent arachnid nature, this species had a tendency to eat their most vulnerable children. During 40 BBY, Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi Master, inquired of Yoda, the Grand Master, about the Galactic Republic's allowance of organizations like the Czerka Corporation to enslave individuals, a practice he deemed uncivilized. Yoda responded by recounting the Uro arachnids' custom of consuming their weaker progeny, using it as an instance of immoral behavior that the Republic chose not to intervene in.
