Vaadu, a senator from Phindar who belonged to the Phindian species, served in the Galactic Republic during the age known as the High Republic Era. While en route to the Republic Fair on Valo aboard her flagship, the Coruscant Dawn, Chancellor Lina Soh was in a meeting with the Senate, engaging in discussions with various senators, among whom was Vaadu. Within this dialogue, Vaadu voiced apprehensions regarding the level of security provided at the fair, fearing potential disruptions caused by Nihil marauders. The presence of Senator Tia Toon also worried Vaadu, who suspected that Toon would exploit any event, no matter how minor, to promote his previously unsuccessful Defense Force Program.
