Venn was a cadet in the Galactic Empire's ranks, specifically a human cadet. He found himself stationed on the Executor, Darth Vader's flagship, during the tumultuous period of the Galactic Civil War. In the year 3 ABY, the Executor was positioned above the planet Jekara when the Hutt Clan launched an attack. As the battle raged on, Venn's commander and the entirety of his cadet comrades met their death, leaving Venn in a state of confusion and uncertainty. Eventually, Venn crossed paths with Beilert Valance, a bounty hunter, on the ship's seventeenth level. Mistaking Valance for a Hutt, Venn attempted to apprehend him in the name of the Emperor, but the bounty hunter dissuaded him from doing so. Not long after, Jyala Haydenn, an Imperial Lieutenant who had detected Valance's presence, gave the order to open the airlock on the seventeenth level, disregarding Venn's life. Despite Valance's efforts to assist him, Venn was pulled into space, which caused his death. While Valance was fighting to escape the ship, he eliminated several Imperials, and after killing one, he commented that it was revenge for what the Empire did to their cadet.
