Jekara

Jekara, an ice planet found in the Mid Rim's Jekara system, became the focal point of a significant event. Lady Qi'ra's revived Crimson Dawn syndicate orchestrated a celebration on Jekara, aiming to auction the carbonite-encased Han Solo, seized from Boba Fett, a renowned bounty hunter, to the highest bidder. This event unfolded aboard the Vermillion, Crimson Dawn's fortress-flagship, with invitations extended to various factions.

Description

Jekara, a terrestrial planet with a frozen climate, was an ice world situated in the Mid Rim Territories. This world, located within the Jekara system, orbited a binary star system. Its surface was characterized by icy landscapes intersected by flowing rivers. The atmosphere of Jekara, breathable by many species, allowed for the formation of clouds. At night, the sky was often illuminated by green and blue aurorae.

The Jekaran shark was a notable inhabitant of this world.

History

In the year 3 ABY, during the Galactic Empire's reign, Jekara was chosen as the venue for an exclusive event organized by the newly resurfaced Crimson Dawn criminal organization. Having been absent from the galaxy for years, the syndicate, led by Lady Qi'ra, had intercepted Han Solo in his carbonite prison from Boba Fett, who was on his way to deliver Solo to Jabba the Hutt. Qi'ra then invited numerous parties to an auction for Solo's ownership. Upon announcing the event, Crimson Dawn's fortress-flagship Vermillion descended onto Jekara's icy surface, setting the stage for the auction.

Invited guests started arriving at Jekara, with numerous starships positioned in orbit. Among those in attendance were Jabba alongside the Grand Hutt Council, rival criminal groups like Black Sun and the Unbroken Clan, and representatives from the Galactic Empire. Doctor Chelli Aphra, a rogue archaeologist, and Sana Starros, a smuggler, also arrived, tasked by Lady Domina Tagge of the Tagge Corporation to gather intelligence on Crimson Dawn. The Sixth Kin dispatched Just Lucky, an assassin, and Ariole Yu, a lieutenant, to eliminate Gallin Crae, a traitorous operative who had secretly joined Crimson Dawn. Learning about the theft of his prize, Fett himself journeyed to Jekara and infiltrated the auction, but not before engaging in a brief conflict with Bossk, a fellow bounty hunter, whom Fett left dismembered and incapacitated in the planet's frigid environment.

Leia Organa, Chewbacca, and C-3PO, members of the Rebel Alliance, along with their associates Lando Calrissian and Lobot, learned of the auction and traveled to Jekara to rescue Solo. Aboard their freighter, the Millennium Falcon, they attempted to approach the auction site undetected by maneuvering around the planet, but a near collision with a Black Sun vessel led to an attack, forcing them to crash-land on the surface.

Once all the guests had arrived, Qi'ra began the auction, and bidding for Solo commenced. Jabba ultimately won with a bid of one million credits, despite opposition from Bokku, a member of the Hutt Council, and Sly Moore, an Imperial administrator, who attempted to use the Force to influence the bidders. As the auction unfolded, Fett encountered the rebels while preparing to reclaim Solo, and Lucky and Yu confronted Crae aboard the Vermillion. However, before Jabba could depart with his prize, Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, intervened. Arriving aboard his flagship, the Executor, Vader landed on Jekara and entered the auction, declaring that Solo belonged to him.
