Vibro-arbir blade

The vibro-arbir blade functioned as a melee weapon utilized by the Seventh Guard, who were part of the Elite Praetorian Guard serving Supreme Leader Snoke. This handheld vibroblade possessed the characteristic of being resistant to strikes from a lightsaber.

Description

The Seventh Guard with joined vibro-arbir blades.

As with all armaments employed by the Elite Praetorian Guard in their role of defending Supreme Leader Snoke, the advanced arbir blade was constructed using hardened metal. It was linked to a small ultrasonic generator, which produced a high-frequency vibration along the blade's cutting edge, thereby amplifying its lethality. An electro-plasma filament ran parallel to the blade's edge, creating an energy blade capable of deflecting a lightsaber. Two separate vibro-arbir blades could be joined at their handles, forming a double-bladed sword.

History

One of the three Imperial Praetorian Guards, who was assigned to Moff Gideon to offer assistance during the battle for Mandalore, used a Vibro-arbir blade to stab Paz Vizsla, the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian, near his neck, ultimately leading to the Mandalorian warrior's death.

During 34 ABY, the Seventh Guard carried his vibro-arbir blades on board Snoke's flagship, the Supremacy, while the First Order was pursuing the Resistance Fleet. Later, when Kylo Ren presented Rey, the Force-sensitive scavenger, to Snoke, the Seventh Guard engaged Rey and Ren in combat using his vibro-arbir blades after Ren had killed the Supreme Leader. However, their weapons proved ineffective against Rey's and Ren's lightsabers, resulting in the guards' demise. One of the guards wielding a vibro-arbir blade was the second to fall, being cut down by Ren's blade. The Seventh Guard managed to survive for a longer period, but ultimately met his end when Rey outmaneuvered him, causing him to fall from the platform to his certain death.
