Mandalorian warrior

Mandalorian commandos, also known as Mandalorian warriors, functioned as soldiers within the various clans of the Mandalorian culture throughout its history. Many of these warriors were members of notable Mandalorian factions, including the Children of the Watch, the Mandalorian Protectors, Death Watch, and the Nite Owls. In general, Mandalorians operated as mercenaries, assassins, saboteurs, bounty hunters, and soldiers.

Description

Also known as Mandalorian commandos, Mandalorian warriors were Mandalorian soldiers who represented the warrior traditions of Mandalore and served in warrior-focused Mandalorian clans. They utilized a variety of Mandalorian armor types, such as Mandalorian rally master armor. Within the Mandalorian ranks, they held the military rank of rally master, and Death Watch utilized a specific rank insignia. Jaig Eyes were a symbol of combat honor displayed on the helmets worn by Mandalorian warriors.

History

Following the Great Clan Wars, Duchess Satine Kryze and the New Mandalorians established a pacifistic society, a significant departure from Mandalore's established warrior culture. Those who resisted this change were exiled to Concordia, and by the time of the Clone Wars, they were presumed to be extinct. However, warriors remained active, organized within Death Watch, secretly under the leadership of Pre Vizsla. Jango Fett, a Mandalorian foundling and bounty hunter who fought in the Mandalorian Civil Wars, was a renowned figure who wore a distinctive set of Mandalorian armor, the acquisition of which was unknown to the New Mandalorian government. Death Watch played a significant role during the Clone Wars, eventually aligning with the Shadow Collective led by Maul and successfully overthrowing the New Mandalorian government, sparking another civil war.

Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Imperial Super Commandos were created to serve the Empire, while other Mandalorian warriors continued to operate within their respective clans. The Mandalorian Protectors maintained their presence in the Concord Dawn system. Following the Great Purge of Mandalore and the Empire's subsequent fall, at least one group of Mandalorian warriors, known as the Tribe, operated in secret. The granting of a personal signet to Din Djarin by "the Armorer" during the Clash on Nevarro, which established Clan Mudhorn, along with a jetpack, signified his recognition as a fully-fledged Mandalorian warrior.
