Jariah Syn and Deliah Blue after being infected by the Vongspawn virus The Vongspawn virus was an infection created through the collaboration of Zenoc Quah, a devoted Yuuzhan Vong Shaper, and Darth Maladi, a Sith alchemy expert and influential figure within the One Sith. Its proliferation across numerous terraformed planets stemmed from the undermined Ossus Project. This virus induced the emergence of agonizing, osseous protrusions on the skin. Strikingly, neither Yuuzhan Vong nor the Jedi were susceptible, fostering the perception of deliberate orchestration. The escalating strain ultimately triggered the Sith–Imperial War, causing a power transition within the galactic landscape, marked by the decline of the Galactic Alliance and the comparatively brief ascent of the Fel Empire to a position of authority. Consequently, numerous infected Vongspawns were scattered throughout the galaxy as a consequence of the widespread contagion.
