The Vuchelle system resided within the Outer Rim Territories' Atrivis sector, encompassing the celestial body known as Vuchelle. During the year 22 BBY, a task force of the Galactic Republic, under the leadership of the Jedi, achieved victory over the pirates of Iridium in a skirmish over Vuchelle that unfolded within the star system. Subsequently, HoloNet News reported that a starfighter belonging to the pirates was thought to have burned up as it entered Vuchelle's atmosphere.
As a component of the Outer Rim Territories, the Vuchelle star system was situated in the New Territories section of the Atrivis sector. Through the Braxant Run hyperlane, it maintained connectivity to the Fedje system and the Isiring system within the Cassander sector. The star system itself contained the astronomical object Vuchelle. Furthermore, a prominent green and yellow nebula was visible from locations within the system.
By 13:3:28 of the Galactic Standard Calendar, the pirates of Iridium had been engaged in extended year-long raids on Galactic Republic convoys along the hyperspace routes of the Atrivis sector, including in the vicinity of Vuchelle. A combined Jedi Order and Republic task force initiated attempts at peaceful negotiations with the pirates within the Vuchelle system. However, during these discussions, the raiders opened fire, resulting in a confrontation in the vicinity of Vuchelle.
Ultimately, the pirate forces were defeated. The CoCo District Edition of the HoloNet News later reported that one of the raiders' Z-95 Headhunter starfighters was believed to have been pulled into Vuchelle's gravity well and subsequently burned up within its atmosphere. The Vuchelle system was situated in the territory controlled by the Pentastar Alignment from 4 ABY to 12 ABY, and later fell within the borders of the Imperial Remnant between 12 ABY and 13 ABY.
The Vuchelle system made its initial appearance in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #49, an in-universe edition of the HoloNet News. It was written by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens, illustrated by Joe Corroney, and released on the HoloNet News website on March 28, 2002. The reference book The Essential Atlas from 2009, penned by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, formally identified the system by its name and located it within grid square L-5.
