Vulta Daanat




During the era of the New Sith Wars, a Dark Jedi known as Vulta Daanat underwent training as a Sith within the ranks of the Brotherhood of Darkness. His instructor was none other than the Dark Lord of the Sith Skere Kaan. However, Daanat's perspective on the Force diverged from Kaan's, leading to a confrontation. Consequently, Daanat departed from the Brotherhood, traversing the Galaxy in pursuit of Force-related relics. Ultimately, he established himself on the planet Mustafar, where he founded his distinct Force tradition, known as the Blackguard.

Biography

In the time of the New Sith Wars, there existed a male individual with sensitivity to the Force, named Vulta Daanat. He became a member of the Brotherhood of Darkness, a Sith organization that stood against the Jedi Order. Daanat became an apprentice under the tutelage of Skere Kaan, the leader of the Brotherhood. Nevertheless, while part of the Brotherhood, Daanat began to formulate the notion that the Force could be utilized for understanding the cosmos, not merely for personal power. Kaan opposed this idea, resulting in a lightsaber duel where Daanat sustained severe injuries and was left for dead by Kaan.

Despite being left for dead, Daanat survived and renounced the Sith. He abandoned the Brotherhood and embarked on a quest throughout the galaxy, following leads and tales to amass Force-related artifacts. During this period, the entire Brotherhood of Darkness was annihilated at the Seventh Battle of Ruusan by a thought bomb they had created to destroy the Army of Light. The Dark Jedi eventually arrived on the planet Mustafar, where he took residence in an abandoned Jedi Enclave situated within the Smoking Forest region. There, he acquired several apprentices and established a Force organization that came to be known as the Blackguard, becoming its inaugural leader, a position known as Kursk.

The Blackguard persisted beyond Daanat's lifetime, continuing to uphold his doctrines, emphasizing the significance of acquiring knowledge and understanding of the galaxy over mere physical prowess. In 1 ABY, a substantial portion of the Blackguard, including the then-Kursk, San'sii, were eliminated when a Sullustan archaeologist named Mi Fon Lu commissioned a group of spacers to clear the ruins inhabited by the Blackguard for his research.

Personality and traits

Daanat held the conviction that the Force could serve both as a means for personal advancement and as a tool for gaining a deeper comprehension of the entire Galaxy. He staunchly defended this conviction, engaging in combat with the Dark Lord of the Sith, Skere Kaan, to uphold it, and establishing an order founded upon this principle.

Behind the scenes

Vulta Daanat was initially referenced within the Jedi Academy Training Manual, a supplement book for the Wizards of the Coast Saga Edition Roleplaying game, released in 2009. Daanat's name appeared in the entry for the Blackguard within the section of the book detailing adversaries of the Jedi Order, establishing him as the founder of the group, which had previously emerged as enemies in the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies as part of the Trials of Obi-Wan expansion.
