Whinndor

Whinndor, a planet found within the Grumani sector, was a world characterized by its sulphuric atmosphere and seas teeming with organic compounds. During the era of the Republic Dark Age, this planet existed within a region contested by the Sith. The mercenary group known as Rusher's Brigade once engaged in combat on its surface. The Whinndorian gorsk-plant was a species of plant that originated on Whinndor.

History

Daiman, one of the two Sith Lords to claim ownership of Whinndor.
Vannar Treece, the Jedi Master who was concerned about the survival of Whinndor's native life.

In the period leading up to Operation Influx, an operation spearheaded by the Jedi during the Republic Dark Age, Whinndor's geographic location placed it on the dividing line between the territories controlled by Sith Lords Daiman and Odion, thus making it a battleground. Jedi Master Vannar Treece believed that the delicate biochemical equilibrium of the planet might not endure the war between the two Sith Lords. He voiced these concerns in a report regarding the worlds of the Spumani sector, which was addressed to Republic Supreme Chancellor Genarra.

Odion, the other Sith Lord who claimed ownership of Whinndor.

Around the time of the Battle of Gazzari in the same year, the mercenary unit Rusher's Brigade saw action on the planet, employing at least one Kelligdyd 25 cannon. Due to an error made by a brigade member when loading the cannon in the Diligence's cargo pod, a slight delay occurred during the brigade's deployment on Gazzari later on.

More than a millennium later, during the Galactic Civil War, the Lady of Whinndor gained notoriety as a luxury liner operating within the Outer Rim Territories.
