Wooriids were carnivorous amphibians indigenous to Glee Anselm, which is the birthplace of the Jedi Master Kit Fisto.
These Wooriids possessed slick skin that secreted neurotoxins. These toxins could paralyze water-based avian creatures that landed on the Wooriid's back, hoping to feed on its discarded remains, thus turning the birds into simple meals for the wooriid. These birds also scavenged leftover food from the beasts' jaws, even though doing so carried the risk of the wooriid consuming them.
The debut of Wooriids occurred in the fifth installment of the Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu comic miniseries, penned by Matt Owens and released by Marvel Comics on December 27th, 2017. In the 2022 video game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which is not considered canon, during a boss fight with Jango Fett within the game's retelling of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, Fisto retorts to the insult "Jedi dogs" by stating that it would be more fitting to refer to him as a wooriid, as his planet does not have dogs.
