Yavin Convention

The Yavin Convention, named after the gas giant Yavin, was a meeting that took place roughly a millennium before 19 BBY. It was at this convention that the Yavin Code was created. This code mandated that prisoners must have their eyes covered before execution. In 19 BBY, during a mission to Utapau, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi was apprehended by the Separatists. While en route to his execution on one of their supply ships, Kenobi invoked the Yavin Code, referencing its establishment at the Yavin Convention. He did this to delay his battle droid guards until Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker could come and save him.
