Yobshrimp

Yobshrimp, a diminutive life-form, originated on the planet of Naboo, classified as a species. These tiny creatures served as sustenance for the seven distinct varieties of scalefish inhabiting both Lake Paonga and the depths of the Naboo Abyss. Interestingly, yobshrimp would reside within the gills of tee scalefish, only to be subsequently consumed by laa scalefish, who would lick them out. On the distant planet Batuu, yobshrimp were cultivated by fishing families for culinary purposes, despite being a non-native species. Notably, Yobshrimp Noodle Salad could be found on the menu at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo within Black Spire Outpost on Batuu during the war that pitted the First Order against the Resistance.

Behind the scenes

Within the current Star Wars canon, the initial mention of yobshrimp occurred in the 2015 publication, Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know. Later, they were depicted as a food item in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, a themed area within Disneyland Park that welcomed visitors beginning on May 31, 2019. The species' genesis can be traced back to the Star Wars Legends timeline, making its debut in the 1999 video game, Star Wars Episode I: The Gungan Frontier.
