Zale Barrows was a captain and privateer who engaged in smuggling. This male Human was active throughout the Great Galactic War, the Cold War, and the Galactic War waged between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire.
In 3660 BBY, he took part in the attack that occurred at the Blockade of the Hydian Way. Subsequently, he commanded the Free Spacers Fleet, a group of freelancer ships, in battles against the Sith Empire at both Dantooine and Coruscant. Following the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, Barrows accepted employment from the Republic, transporting individuals to Belsavis, a hidden world used as a prison.
During the Cold War, a bounty hunter working for Darth Tormen pursued him relentlessly. While evading both the Hunter and Skadge, a Houk prisoner whom Zale himself had incarcerated, Zale ventured into The Tomb in an attempt to prevent Operations Group One from liberating the inmates held there. Trapped by the Hunter and Skadge, he tried to negotiate his freedom to stop the Imperials, but the Hunter refused, instead allowing Skadge to exact his revenge by killing Zale.
After the player triumphs over Zale, they have the option to either permit Skadge to beat him to death (a dark side choice) or to break their agreement and freeze Zale in carbonite.
