Zallo was a place of significance. In the days of the High Republic Era, Ghal Tarpfen, who held the position of chief of security on the Galactic Republic's Starlight Beacon space station, and his team learned that the Nihil pirates were gathering in force within the Soola system. A discussion took place in 231 BBY on the station, where Marshal Avar Kriss debated with Jedi High Council member Stellan Gios. The point of contention was whether the Jedi Order should act on this intelligence without delay. Kriss asserted that the Jedi's actions against the Nihil had been insufficient, and she expressed her desire to act on Tarpfen's information by dispatching a team to Zallo. Gios denied the marshal's request and instructed her, along with the other Jedi stationed at Starlight, to await additional orders.
Zallo appeared in flashbacks in the ninth issue of Star Wars: The High Republic, a comic series from 2021, which was part of Phase I of the larger Star Wars: The High Republic project. Cavan Scott wrote the issue, which Marvel Comics released on September 1, 2021.
