Zasha Ranken was a Human admiral (a female) serving within the Sith Imperial Navy. She held this rank during both the Great Galactic War and the subsequent Cold War.
During the waning years of the Great War, Ranken displayed significant promise as an officer, leading to Rycus Kilran taking her under his tutelage. She was present on Kilran's starship during the infamous Sacking of Coruscant, where she reportedly took pleasure in the bombardment of civilian structures. As the Cold War progressed, she rose to become the admiral overseeing the Imperial Forward Command. Her service to the Empire earned her the respect of the notable Darth Krovos.
She was among the few experienced officers who managed to survive the Eternal Empire's conquest of the galaxy. Longing to join the Outlander's Alliance, Ranken found herself without a means of establishing contact. This search led her to encounter Tai Cordan, a Senator from Balmorra, and Malita Tal, a popular holo-dancer and exiled Zakuulan. United by their shared goal, the trio formed an alliance to locate the Outlander. Their efforts ultimately led to their capture by forces loyal to Emperor Arcann, who intended to interrogate them on Zakuul regarding the Outlander's location. However, the Alliance launched a raid on their transport vessel, successfully liberating them.
Anna Graves provides the voice for Ranken in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Ranken is featured in Chapter XV: The GEMINI Deception of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire. The chapter culminates with the prison transport's self-destruct sequence, requiring the Outlander to manually deploy escape pods individually. While the first two pods reach safety, the third is destroyed. Of Ranken, Tai Cordan, and Malita, only two can be saved, with the third perishing. Saving Ranken will increase Lana Beniko's approval, while failing to do so will result in her disapproval and subsequent commentary.
If Ranken survives, Darth Krovos will mention that the Admiral and her family send their regards to the player in the post-Jedi Under Siege mission, "Hearts and Minds".
