08, a BX-series droid commando from the Separatist faction, participated in the defense of Rishi Station, but met its end there, being destroyed during the conflict.
During 22 BBY, 08, along with other BX-series droid commandos serving the Separatist cause, was given the mission to infiltrate Rishi Station (belonging to the Galactic Republic) situated on the Rishi Moon. Their objective was to activate the "all-clear" signal, paving the way for a surprise assault on Kamino, a crucial Republic world. 08 and the other droids utilized Droch-class boarding ships, taking advantage of a meteor shower to approach and land near the station. After infiltrating the base and eliminating several clone troopers, the droids successfully hard-wired the "all-clear" signal. However, CT-782 "Hevy," CT-1409 "Echo," and CT-27-5555, Republic survivors of the initial attack, managed to escape the base.
Clone Captain CT-7567 "Rex" and Clone Commander CC-2224 "Cody" arrived to conduct a routine inspection. A droid, disguised as a clone trooper, attempted to dissuade them from carrying out the inspection. After Hevy used a droid attack flare to alert the clone officers, Rex immediately shot and destroyed the disguised commando droid. Subsequently, they were ambushed and forced off the platform, leading the Separatist droids to believe they had been eliminated. Afterward, 08, along with two other droids, Unit 07 and 09, were assigned to guard the entrance to the base. Rex then tricked them into opening the doors for Unit 26, a droid that had been previously destroyed. As the doors opened, 08 and the other droids were destroyed, allowing the clones to successfully retake control of the base. However, a fleet of Separatist warships then arrived, deploying reinforcements.
08's debut occurred in "Rookies," an episode from 2008 which was part of the first season of the animated TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The character 08 was officially identified in the episode guide released at the time of the episode's airing.
