Arakein Monks

The Arakein Monks were a religious order that was active almost two millennia before the Galactic Civil War. The monks built a giant clock out of stone at the top of a mountain named Mount Arakeirkos. They were also rumored to put a deceased individual's names into their Book of the Dead so that they would remember the individual forever. In 3 ABY, Captain Micha Evon of the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry told the rebel First Sergeant Hazram Namir about Mount Arakeirkos and the clock built by the Arakein Monks.

During the Battle of Jakku in 5 ABY, the New Republic pilot Vitale played the game Who? What? Where?—where the players listed who first heard about their death and how and where they died—with enemy pilots of the Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing over a comm channel. One Imperial pilot wished for the Arakein Monks to put their name in the alleged Book of the Dead, mentioning the books significance.

The Arakein Monks were first mentioned in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, written by Alexander Freed.
