Micha "Howl" Evon was a soldier of the human male variety who held the rank of captain within the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the era of the Galactic Civil War. He engaged in combat against the forces of the Galactic Empire during the Retreat that took place in the Mid Rim territories. During this period, Evon held command over the 61st Mobile Infantry, a unit more famously known as Twilight Company. As a founding member, Evon led Twilight Company through numerous engagements until his death during the Battle of Hoth, at which point Hazram Namir assumed command. Lieutenant Sairgon shared a close bond with Evon, becoming one of the select few privy to the captain's past. Rumors circulated that Evon had been a teacher before his time with Twilight Company, but the truth of his identity perished alongside Sairgon, who was killed during an Imperial insurgency targeting Twilight Company, an event concurrent with the Battle of Hoth but occurring in a different region of the galaxy.
Micha Evon, a human male, served as a captain within the ranks of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. He established the 61st Mobile Infantry, better known as Twilight Company, either during or prior to 0 BBY, and commanded them through many conflicts. His unique strategies earned him the nickname Micha "Howling Mad" Evon, or simply Howl, among the Twilight soldiers. Twilight Company operated two vessels: the CR90 corvette Thunderstrike and the Braha'tok-class gunship Apailana's Promise.

At one juncture, while Twilight Company was actively recruiting on Veron, a bounty hunter known as Brand enlisted with the intention of collecting a bounty on Evon. She managed to smuggle her equipment aboard the Thunderstrike. During the Battle of Allst Prime, Cait, Twilight Company's Forward Air Control officer, was killed, forcing Evon to assume her responsibilities in directing the company's two X-wings. Subsequently, he accompanied Brand to the Governor's office, where Brand assassinated Governor Magé. Seizing the opportunity to claim her bounty, Brand aimed her blaster at Evon. However, Evon anticipated her actions. Maintaining his composure, he revealed his knowledge of her background and offered her a position within Twilight Company, which she accepted.
Throughout his tenure as captain, Evon faced numerous trials. During a recruitment drive on Demiloch, an Imperial Spy posing as a recruit shot him, prompting Lieutenant Sairgon to prematurely terminate the event. Evon awoke two days later, enraged by Sairgon's decision. On another occasion, Twilight Company suffered a devastating defeat at Magnus Horn, leading the Alliance High Command to attempt to reassign its members. Evon fought to preserve the company's unity and prevent its dissolution.
Evon commanded the company's advance into the Mid Rim, engaging in operations on planets such as Phorsa Gedd and Bamayar, as well as participating in the Mid Rim Retreat, where they supported the Alliance Fleets in their withdrawal from the Mid Rim. In 3 ABY, Twilight Company launched a campaign on Haidoral Prime, successfully defeating enemy forces in the capital, Haidoral Administrative Center One. During this campaign, Brand, Sergeant Hazram Namir, the Besalisk Gadren, and the Imperial defector Charmer infiltrated the Governor's mansion and extracted the defecting Governor Everi Chalis. Chalis offered to share her knowledge of the Imperial war machine with the Alliance. Despite skepticism from most Twilight members, Evon recognized the potential value of her assistance.
Chalis provided crucial intelligence during the Coyerti campaign on Coyertis main distillery, which Brand, Namir, Gadren, and Haidoral recruit Roach subsequently destroyed. Following the campaign, the company was ambushed by an Imperial Destroyer and forced to retreat, only to be attacked again in the Enrivi system and Chonsetta system. A leak in the Thunderstrike's hyperdrive allowed the ship to be tracked, necessitating urgent repairs. Evon and his officers convened to determine how to acquire the necessary supplies, and Chalis assisted them in planning a Raid on an Imperial heavy freighter, which they executed successfully, albeit with the loss of two Sergeants, Fektrin and Ajax. With the Thunderstrike's hyperdrive leak repaired, Evon secured permission for the Thunderstrike and the Apailana's Promise to rendezvous with a flotilla in the Elochar sector, where the Thunderstrike would undergo further repairs.
While the Thunderstrike was docked at the flotilla, Evon and Chalis received an invitation to Alliance High Command's secret headquarters, Echo Base on Hoth. They brought Namir and Twilight soldiers Roja and Beak along with them. Upon arriving at the base, they met with General Philap Bygar, who escorted them to the Alliance High Command. There, Evon, Chalis, and Bygar participated in a strategy conference centered on Chalis's charts of the Imperial logistical network, while Namir and the other two assisted with tasks around the base. Shortly after the conference, the Empire discovered the base and launched an assault, deploying All Terrain Armored Transports to wreak havoc and destroy the deflector shield generator. During the initial bombardment of Echo Base, Evon sustained a gash, possibly from a fall. Chalis, who was scheduled to depart on the first transport, remained behind to assist him, but her efforts proved futile without additional help.
Namir, Roja, and Beak arrived and attempted to aid Chalis, reaching the only entrance and exit to Echo Base: the hangar. However, Darth Vader and a squad of Blizzard Force stormtroopers were simultaneously entering Echo Base. Namir, Roja, and Beak fired upon Vader, but their attacks were ineffective. Overwhelmed by his power, Vader bisected Beak, deflected Roja's grenade, and knocked Namir unconscious, killing Roja. Before losing consciousness, Namir witnessed Vader choking Chalis, who believed he had come for her. However, Vader was searching for Luke Skywalker and discarded her. Namir then lost consciousness, and Evon succumbed to blood loss.
Micha Evon's true nature remained enigmatic to most members of Twilight Company. Sergeant Fektrin speculated that he had been a teacher before the war. However, only Lieutenant [Sairgon](/article/sairgon], who shared a close bond with Evon, knew the truth about his past. Evon made significant contributions to Twilight Company. Following a devastating defeat at Magnus Horn, he fought to keep the company intact when the Alliance High Command sought to reassign its members. During Hazram Namir's initial encounter with Evon, the captain was attempting to recall past memories and managed to remember his first schoolyard crush, a Twi'lek girl named Iania. At Howl's funeral, Twitch recounted her experience with him on Chenodra, where he began discussing the architecture of the buildings.
Micha Evon made his debut in the 2015 canon novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, penned by Alexander Freed. In an interview with Daily Dot, Freed characterized Evon as lacking the "polish or sensibilities" typically associated with military officers, yet remaining highly effective in his role, thereby defining the character of Twilight Company's recruits. He further explained that the captain served as the company's moral compass, with his philosophy shaping their actions. Freed also expressed his intention to create a sense of unease in following Evon, prompting questions about his leadership due to his eccentricities.
