Phorsa Gedd

Phorsa Gedd, a planet situated within the Mid Rim, was characterized by its factory-deserts. An Imperial soldier, named Vryant, performed his duties in the trenches of this planet for a duration of two years. Furthermore, the 61st Mobile Infantry of the Rebel Alliance also fought on Phorsa Gedd as a component of the Alliance's campaign into the Mid Rim, a campaign that extended for nine months around the period of 1 ABY. The engineer known as Vifra also joined the 61st, departing from this world sometime between 2 ABY and 3 ABY. The battle was a topic of remembrance and discussion among members of the company in the time that followed. In 4 ABY, New Republic pilots Wyl Lark and Nath Tensent were sharing accounts of their most challenging nights spent in the wilderness, and one of them recalled a night spent on Phorsa Gedd.

Description

This terrestrial planet, known as Phorsa Gedd, was located in the Mid Rim and was distinguished by its factory-deserts. The planet's sunsets were marked by the release of heat until the arrival of sunrise the next day. It possessed a Type I atmosphere, which was breathable for beings such as humans.

History

The Alliance 61st Mobile Infantry (whose logo is pictured) participated in combat on Phorsa Gedd during the Rebel campaign within the Mid Rim.

During the time of the Galactic Empire, the soldier Vryant of the Imperial forces spent two years in the trenches of Phorsa Gedd before his reassignment to a garrison on the colony world of Mrinzebon. Around 1 ABY, the Rebel Alliance initiated a campaign that lasted nine months and targeted the Mid Rim. During this campaign, the Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, more commonly known as Twilight Company, engaged in battle at the factory-deserts of Phorsa Gedd. When the campaign met its end in 2 ABY, resulting in the Alliance's withdrawal from the Mid Rim, Twilight Company was relocated to multiple sites where it had fought only months prior, and the engineer named Vifra became a part of the company after departing from Phorsa Gedd.

In 3 ABY, in the period leading up to the Battle of Hoth, First Sergeant Hazram Namir of the 61st recalled the battle that occurred on Phorsa Gedd, remembering it with great clarity, alongside fellow 61st soldiers Beak and Roja on the planet Hoth. Following Twilight Company's victory on Sullust that year, Carver, who was also a member of Twilight Company and a participant in the fighting on Phorsa Gedd, shared tales of the latter conflict while in a cantina located in Pinyumb, the capital city of Sullust.

In 4 ABY, the Force ghost of the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi communicated to the aspiring Jedi Luke Skywalker that the destiny of Phorsa Gedd, along with numerous other planets, hinged on a final confrontation between Skywalker and the Sith Lord Darth Vader. In that same year, Wyl Lark and Nath Tensentpilots serving the Alliance's successor, the New Republic—recounted their most difficult nights in the wilderness, with one of them describing evenings spent within the factory-deserts of Phorsa Gedd.

Behind the scenes

The first mention of Phorse Gedd was in Battlefront: Twilight Company, a novel authored by Alexander Freed and released in 2015.
