During the Galactic Civil War, specifically in the year 3 ABY, the 61st Mobile Infantry of the Rebel Alliance executed a daring attack against an Imperial large cargo transport.
Following a successful engagement on Coyerti in 3 ABY, the 61st Mobile Infantry faced an assault from an Imperial Destroyer at the border of the Metatessu sector. The Thunderstrike, their CR90 corvette, narrowly escaped, shielded by its escort, the Braha'tok-class gunship known as Apailana's Promise.
Approximately thirty hours later, an Arquitens-class light cruiser and a group of TIE fighters laid in wait, attacking them. The Thunderstrike and Apailana's Promise swiftly eliminated the attacking force and proceeded onward, only to be confronted again nineteen hours later within the Chonsetta system. A squadron of TIE Interceptors inflicted severe damage to the port side of the 61st's troop carrier.
M2-M5, the Thunderstrike's chief engineer, determined that a fault in the Thunderstrike's hyperdrive was causing them to be tracked. Consequently, Everi Chalis, the former Governor of Haidoral Prime, devised a plan to secure the necessary resources for the Thunderstrike's repairs.
The Thunderstrike and Apailana's Promise traveled to the Redhurne system, a site of ongoing Imperial mining operations. There, they surprised an Imperial heavy freighter and deployed boarding pods towards the vessel. Each pod contained a team of Rebel troopers who, upon entering the ship, aggressively engaged the defending stormtroopers. Sergeant Fektrin guided a trio of engineers to facilitate the extraction of the required resources. During the fighting, Cappandar, one of Fektrin's soldiers, an alien, was struck by a dozen blaster bolts before falling. Simultaneously, Sergeant Maximian Ajax's squad established a defensive line to restrict the movement of defenders within the ship, while Sergeant Zab and Carver's heavy fire teams forcefully advanced through multiple access points.
To unnerve the ship, the Thunderstrike fired on the heavy freighter intermittently, but the situation escalated when an Imperial Gozanti-class cruiser entered the system and began approaching the conflict. Captain Micha Evon ordered the squad to return to their pods within five minutes. Ajax's squad was soon trapped. First Sergeant Hazram Namir's team successfully rescued Ajax's men, but Ajax himself was lost. He died detonating a grenade, yelling insults. Fektrin's squad were separated and the stormtroopers tried to eliminate them, killing Fektrin. Charmer's squad returned to their pod, as did the others. Namir took Fektrin's pod back to the Thunderstrike, and once all surviving personnel were aboard, the Thunderstrike and Apailana's Promise executed a jump out of the system.
The 61st suffered the loss of eight soldiers during the engagement, but they successfully acquired the necessary supplies for repairs. The Thunderstrike and Apailana's Promise sustained some damage during their escape, and the Apailana's Promise's shield generator was depleted. The two vessels proceeded to a group of ships within the Elochar sector, where they underwent repairs until Imperial spies secretly boarded the Thunderstrike and assassinated the officers present.
