Battle in the Chonsetta system

Amidst the Galactic Civil War, a significant engagement unfolded in 3 ABY within the Chonsetta system, a location within the Mid Rim Retreat. This clash pitted the 61st Mobile Infantry of the Rebel Alliance against the military forces representing the Galactic Empire. Approximately twelve TIE Interceptors ambushed the 61st's starships, targeting a hypermatter emission originating from the CR90 corvette, known as the Thunderstrike. Before the 61st withdrew from the system and identified the source of the hypermatter leak, the TIEs inflicted damage on the starboard side of the corvette.

Prelude

During the Galactic Civil War, specifically in 3 ABY, the CR90 corvette Thunderstrike, which functioned as the headquarters and primary troop carrier for the 61st Mobile Infantry of the Rebel Alliance's, sustained damage to its hyperdrive, leading to a hypermatter leak. Detecting the resultant hypermatter trail, Captain Tabor Seitaron and Prelate Verge of the Galactic Empire instructed Imperial officers stationed aboard their Imperial II-class Star Destroyer, the Herald, to coordinate with Imperial forces for an assault on the 61st. Following their victory against attackers during the second attack in the Enrivi system, the 61st celebrated, while the gunnery teams remained vigilant at their stations, anticipating a potential renewed assault.

The battle

In the nineteen hours following the engagement in the Enrivi system, the starships of the 61st executed a pair of course alterations, aiming to evade pursuit by Imperial forces. Nevertheless, approximately a dozen TIE Interceptors, emerging from the concealment offered by a comet tail, launched an attack on the battle group within the Chonsetta system. The TIEs successfully inflicted damage upon the starboard section of the Thunderstrike before the 61st departed the system.

Aftermath

Following the attack, rumors circulated among the 61st, suggesting that three Imperial battle groups had disengaged from other Rebel conflicts to pursue the Alliance battle group. M2-M5, serving as the 61st's chief of engineering, soon discovered the hypermatter leak originating from the Thunderstrike. During a subsequent meeting, Lieutenant Sairgon observed that the Imperial forces had merely harassed the battle group. To effect repairs on the corvette's hyperdrive, the 61st conducted a raid on an Imperial heavy freighter.
