Cappandar

Cappandar, an alien operative, served with distinction in the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry. By the time 3 ABY rolled around, he stood as one of the company's most tenured members. First Sergeant Hazram Namir of the Rebel forces selected Cappandar for a mission aimed at securing crucial supplies from an Imperial heavy freighter within the Redhurne system. Tragically, Cappandar died during this operation, succumbing to multiple blaster wounds. He was subsequently honored with a funeral, marked by a brief, poignant eulogy delivered by a fellow member of the company.

Biography

During the Galactic Civil War, Cappandar served as a soldier within the ranks of the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, famously known as "Twilight Company." Reaching the year of 3 ABY, his tenure within the company made him one of its longest-serving members. Consequently, First Sergeant Hazram Namir chose him, alongside others skilled in zero-gravity combat, EVA protocols, and proficiency with space suits and oxygen masks, for a critical mission. The objective was to board an Imperial heavy freighter located in the Redhurne system to acquire essential supplies needed to repair the hyperdrive of the Thunderstrike, Twilight Company's CR90 corvette.

As a part of a squad commanded by the alien Sergeant Fektrin, Cappandar's responsibility was to safeguard a team of three engineers tasked with scavenging the required resources aboard the Imperial freighter. Alongside at least five other squads—intended to divert the attention of the starship's security forces—Cappandar's squad gained access to the freighter via boarding pods equipped with laserdrills. While escorting the engineering team toward the freighter's command center, Cappandar was killed, sacrificing himself to protect the group from enemy fire, sustaining half a dozen blaster shots. Upon Fektrin's reunion with Namir and the remaining members of his squad at the command center, Namir observed the absence of one of Fektrin's soldiers. Fektrin recounted the details of Cappandar's demise, to which Namir responded that Cappandar would be another to honor with a drink after the raid.

Despite the inability to recover his body for return to the Thunderstrike, Cappandar was honored with a funeral alongside the seven other individuals who met their end aboard the Imperial freighter. A quartermaster named Hober solemnly recited the names of all eight fallen comrades before those gathered in the Thunderstrike's vehicle bay, with the ceremony broadcast throughout the corvette. In accordance with Twilight Company's custom, Cappandar was also remembered with a brief eulogy delivered by a fellow member of the unit. Following the ceremony, friends of Cappandar and the other deceased congregated in the Thunderstrike's clubhouse, sharing anecdotes and memories of their lost companions.
