Rods known as connector rods were available for purchase at the Office of Acquisitions, situated on the supertanker fuel depot referred to as Colossus. In the year 34 ABY, Teroj Kee, an operative affiliated with the First Order, requested that Kazuda Xiono, a mechanic who happened to be working on that particular day, transport a container filled with connector rods, along with other items, to loading dock 23. Although Xiono complied with this request, Kee subsequently confined him within the storage locker, as his true intention was to entice Xiono away from the store so that he could steal a phase connector from the establishment's storage area.

On the supertanker fuel depot Colossus, the Office of Acquisitions, managed by Flix and Orka, offered connector rods for sale. In 34 ABY, [Kazuda Xiono](/article/kazuda_xiono], a mechanic, consented to oversee the Office of Acquisitions for a day to settle a debt owed to Flix and Orka. Disguised as a representative of the Mining Guild, Teroj Kee, a First Order operative, attempted to purchase a phase connector mining tool from the establishment. Xiono informed him that the only one available was already reserved. Following this, Bitey, a gorg, bit Kee's hand, prompting the irritated First Order operative to request Xiono to deliver a crate of connector rods, along with three tool kits and ten laser lenses, to his storage locker at loading dock 23 within the Colossus's loading docks. Despite Xiono's excitement, believing the sale to be legitimate, Kee's true intention was to lure Xiono away from the shop so he could steal the phase connector device from the establishment's vault.
Xiono gathered the requested parts on a pallet and proceeded to deliver them, despite his astromech droid, BB-8, suspecting the situation. Upon arrival, Kee held the mechanic at blaster-point within the locker and trapped him inside. Although Xiono managed to escape, the locker, along with the connector rods and other parts inside, were dropped into the waters of the Mid Rim planet Castilon below.
