Korba

Korba was a terrestrial planet whose surface featured mountain spires that featured caverns rich with kyber crystals, which the Jedi Order used to construct its weapons, the lightsabers. The world's kyber deposits were praised across the galaxy until the Sith Order "poisoned" it and corrupted it with the Dark side of the Force, turning the crystals red. However, over generations, Korba's native sentient species, the Korbans, learned how to mine the corrupted kyber for the Jedi, who used the Force to restore the crystals to their original state.

By 19 BBY, no Korban had ever left their world, staying on Korba to extract kyber from the mines in the world's spires, such as . At some point, a young Korban girl named Aau and her father, Abat, learned that she could purify Korba's kyber crystals by singing, and Abat instructed her not to sing around them. However, after the Jedi Kratu arrived at the world, Aau and her father traveled to a large Korban , where they groomed Korba's purple beasts and mined kyber respectively. The girl followed her father to Spire 17 and, disobeying his instructions, purified a cavern's kyber and caused the nearby spires to collapse. As a result, both fell from a bridge while trying to escape, but they were saved by Kratu, who left the world with Aau to nurture her singing abilities.
