The meiloorun fruit, also known as the meiloorun melon or just meiloorun, was a species of fruit that was orange in color.
Meilooruns were a fruit characterized by rinds that were orange and yellow. A hybrid variation also existed, distinguished by its purple rind.
Throughout the galaxy, meilooruns were available for purchase on planets like Tatooine and Lothal. Because the fruit wasn't native to Lothal, it was considered a rarity there.
This fruit was well-known as the preferred snack of rebel pilot Hera Syndulla. The clone trooper known as "Big-Mouth" had a reputation for finding meilooruns to consume, regardless of where his unit was stationed.
At one point, a substantial quantity of these fruits was in the possession of an Imperial unit stationed on Lothal. However, they were lost due to the actions of Ezra Bridger and [Garazeb Orrelios], two members of the Spectres.
During an attack on Imperial Troop Transports, and following the Siege of Lothal, Zeb adopted "Commander Meiloorun" as an alias for various purposes. He reused the name as a disguise to assist his team in their escape from the Inquisitors.
A box containing meilooruns could be sold for 260 Galactic Credit Standard in the year 3 ABY.
During a chase in Mos Espa between Mayor Mok Shaiz's majordomo and a street gang working for Boba Fett, the majordomo's landspeeder crashed into a cart filled with meilooruns. This resulted in the landspeeder being buried in the fruit, effectively ending the chase. Following the Battle for Mos Espa, a young girl offered meilooruns to Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. While Shand refused the offer, Fett accepted the fruit and then tossed it to Krrsantan, who eagerly consumed it.
The origin of meilooruns can be traced back to X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble, a Star Wars Legends novel authored by Michael A. Stackpole and published in 1996. Meiloorun juice is available for purchase in the real-world Ronto Roasters located within the themed area Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
