A Kilji served as a vassal aboard the Kilji Illumine war cruiser Whetstone under the leader of the Illumine, Generalirius Nakirre, in 18 BBY. Following the Whetstones arrival at the Unknown Regions' Sunrise system, Nakirre was killed by his former Grysk ally, "Jixtus." As a result, the Kilji vassal informed the Whetstones Pathfinder navigator, Qilori, of the consequences of having no master: that the vassals aboard the Whetstone were not able to move or think, for the Kilji beliefs they followed prevented them from doing so.
Qilori announced that he was the vassals' new master and that he would lead them until they could be returned to their people. Shortly after, on Qilori's orders, the Whetstones vassals removed the warship's peace-sealing, which sealed its weapons. Following the sealing's removal, the Whetstone fired at Jixtus' flagship, the FateSpinner, which induced Jixtus to destroy the latter warship, killing himself.
