The FateSpinner was an immense and immaculate Shatter-class WarMaster vessel that functioned as the command ship for the Grysk agent "Jixtus"'s armada and was under the leadership of a Grysk officer. Outfitted with a nyix outer shell, projectiles defended by smaller ordinance called dibbers, and a spectrum laser, this spacecraft possessed the capability to obliterate the substantial Illumine Kilhorde battle group belonging to the Kilji Illumine in a mere two hours.
In 18 BBY, the FateSpinner aided its commander in the coercion of his associate, Generalirius Nakirre, and made an attempt to annihilate the Chiss Clarr light cruiser Orisson within the Chiss Ascendancy's Ornfra system. This was done to prevent its commander, Captain Clarr'os'culry, from revealing to the public that the Ascendancy's Clarr family was providing sanctuary to the FateSpinner and other Grysk warships in the Rhigar system. However, the Shatter-class WarMaster's mission failed, as the Orisson successfully escaped into hyperspace.
A few days following the Ornfra incident, the FateSpinner and the remainder of Jixtus's fleet engaged a fleet of Chiss warships in the Sunrise system during Senior Captain Thrawn's final stand. Initially, the Grysk ships held the advantage, but with the intervention of warships from the Garwian Unity and Vak Combine and a Vagaari gravity well, the Chiss managed to eliminate the majority of the Grysk forces. After destroying his own fleet, Jixtus issued a warning to the Chiss, stating that the Grysks would return before detonating the FateSpinner.
The FateSpinner, a colossal Shatter-class WarMaster, was a warship belonging to the Grysk species' military force and served as the flagship of a Grysk fleet under the command of "Jixtus." The ship's front section was densely packed with spectrum laser clusters, positioned within sizable weapon emplacements, along with additional spectrum lasers and missile launchers on the warship's weapon mounts. Lights illuminated the warship's sides and dorsal spine, emphasizing the ship's length. It employed dibbers to protect its missiles during combat and had the capacity to store shuttlecraft and escape pods from Kilji war cruisers, vessels significantly smaller than the WarMaster.
In 18 BBY, Jixtus, the ship's master, forged an alliance with Generalirius Nakirre, the leader of the Illumine. The Kilji facilitated the Grysk's transit across the Unknown Regions aboard the Kilji war cruiser Whetstone, concealing the true extent of their adversaries—the Grysks and Jixtus's fleet—from the region's inhabitants. Jixtus and Nakirre paid a visit to Thistrian, the Mitth family Patriel of Avidich within the Chiss Ascendancy, but the Grysk prevented the generalirius from discussing the Kilji religion with the patriel before being dismissed by the Chiss.
This led to a confrontation between the allies, and Jixtus transported Nakirre to a star system where all of the Kilji's inquiries would be addressed. Upon arrival, however, instead of Nakirre receiving his answers, the FateSpinner directed all of its armament towards the Whetstone. By threatening the destruction of the Kilhorde, the FateSpinner's owner continued to exploit the Kilji as a tool, visiting numerous worlds within the Chiss Ascendancy, including the planet of Rhigar, the residence of the Grysk-aligned Chiss Clarr family.
Clarr'ivl'exow "Rivlex", the Clarr Patriarch, had accepted Grysk warships from Jixtus, providing them shelter, including the FateSpinner, within the outer Rhigar system. The Clarr light cruiser Orisson detected the warships, and the FateSpinner's officers reported this to Rivlex and Jixtus. To prevent Roscu from revealing the Clarr–Grysk alliance, Jixtus intended to travel with the Whetstone to the Orisson's destination, the Ornfra system; however, the operative had another task to take care of and instead dispatched his Shatter-class WarMaster. At Ornfra, the WarMaster launched an assault on the Orisson with minimal impact before the cruiser jumped to hyperspace. Shortly thereafter, Jixtus learned that a fleet of Chiss warships had assembled at Schesa and traveled to the planet known to the Chiss as Sunrise, prompting him to dispatch his fleet to confront the opposing Chiss formation. At Sunrise, the FateSpinner and the other vessels of Jixtus's fleet engaged the fleet but were defeated by the Chiss, with the Shatter-class WarMaster initiating its self-destruction.
