Species and subspecies

Hey, Eyre. I've put up a CT here: Forum:CT:Species and subspecies. Hopefully this will help us figure out how to handle subspecies articles. I've got notes or drafts done for Arkanian Offshoot, Stennes Shifter, and Saurin for which I'm not entirely sure how to proceed otherwise! ~Savage 16:46, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

Essential Reader's Companion

Hey, Eyre. I just got The Essential Reader's Companion in the mail yesterday, and it seems to include some new species IDs and possibly new planet placements. For instance, it confirms that Big Gizz is a Moggonite hybrid, and it provides a planet placement for D'vouran during the events of Galaxy of Fear: Eaten Alive that we could use so place the Enzeen species (the planet moved after the events of the book, but it's probably good enough for us). It's a beautiful book, so try to track it down if you can. In the meantime, I'll be (slowly) making my way through it checking this stuff to see how it might impact our work. ~Savage 11:36, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

  • Oh, exciting! Keep me posted on any new discoveries. --Eyrezer () 08:49, October 4, 2012 (UTC)

Night-soarer

Hey, Eyre. Did you get my email about the Night-soarers? ~Savage 14:31, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

Tiss'shar

I noticed you did a pretty big clean-up on Tiss-shar; thanks for that. I have two concerns, though. First, I see you de-linked all of the image captions. While I don't see it reflected in the Manual of Style, I don't recall us ever overturning the consensus developed at the September 9 2007 Mofference (summarized here) that included image captions as linkable. Am I wrong about this? Second, I see you've set in stone the various types of Tiss'shar as subspecies, rather than races. My concern is the canon hasn't been consistent on this point: while the Ultimate Alien Anthology refers to them as subspecies, Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens — Enemies and Allies refers to them as races. Since there isn't a set-in-stone difference in the real world between the two terms, I wasn't concerned about their conflation, and used them synonymously in the article and in the articles about the subspecies. But if differentiating between the two terms is now important for our articles, we need to decide how best to handle it. jSarek (talk) 08:15, October 15, 2012 (UTC)

  • No worries. What prompted the clean-up was the addition of a new field in the infobox for subspecies, as distinct from races. There is a related discussion on this in the Senate Hall that you may want to check out. IIRC, my source was the CSWE - probably one of the more recent Tiss'shar sources, which referred to various subspecies.
  • On image captions, my understanding is that, as with quotes, they should only be linked if the term is not linked in the body of the text. I think all the ones that I took out were linked in the text. However, let me check that this is the case. --Eyrezer () 08:40, October 15, 2012 (UTC)

Atlas Online Companion

Hey, Eyre, where'd you find the list of systems added in the latest Atlas Online Companion update? The page on SW.com still reflects the September 2011 update, although the PDF is the newer one. Tell me you didn't scour the two PDFs side by side! :) ~Savage 12:46, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

  • LOL - I wanted to ask you how you knew there had been an update. No, I haven't seen any useful list of changes, but I had a look for the corrections that I had personally sent to Jason Fry, which accounted for a few. I also had a flick through Season 4 of The Clone Wars for the homeworlds of new species. There are no doubt non-species related worlds from TCW, but I have less of an interest in them. When they eventually put up an update, we will still need to go through systemically, I suspect. Yay! --Eyrezer () 19:31, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

Planetnamia

Hey, Eyre. Tope pointed out to me that our commonly used "Planetnamia" citation to the Jedi Council Forums no longer seems to work. Do you have any idea what happened to Jason Fry's posting on the Planetnamians from Planetnamia thing? We probably need to update a bunch of citations... :/ ~Savage 21:50, October 19, 2012 (UTC)

Conjeni

Just in case you were looking for more projects, these guys just got placed in the new Atlas update: Conjeni. Thought I'd bring it to your attention, since, as a minor WEG species, they kind of have your name written all over 'em. ;) ~Savage 10:54, October 26, 2012 (UTC)

Dyslogia Twang

Hello Eyerezer. Since you possess a copy of Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, would you be so kind as to tell me whether Dyslogia Twang appeared in this book or not? If she does, I'd also be interested in any picture and/or pertaining info. I'm currently expanding this article, but Monsters and Aliens was already listed in the sources before I started working on it. Thanks in advance! Regards. --LelalMekha (talk) 00:31, November 12, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hi Lelal. Let me know if you still need you this and I will email you the details. Cheers --Eyrezer () 07:42, November 21, 2012 (UTC)

Andalese

Done, a few days later. Also, check your e-mail, not yet, but... later this week. Menkooroo (talk) 00:44, November 26, 2012 (UTC)

  • Oh, the suspense! How about a review of Sakiyan, too? --Eyrezer () 17:01, November 30, 2012 (UTC)

WP:KOTOR

As of 0:00 UTC (8:00 PM EST), I have assumed responsibilities for leading this project, due to my predecessor Cylka's inactivity. Wherever she is, I wish her well in her endeavors, and should she come back, I will gladly turn over leadership back to her. Over the next few weeks, I look forward to reviewing more articles and also wish to get more KotOR-related projects off the ground, and look forward to moving forward to bettering this project and ultimately Wookieepedia. Thank you for your continued service to Wookieepedia.—Jedi Kasra 01:11, December 20, 2012 (UTC)

Yalaran

Hi Eyrezer, I saw you reverted my edit on Yalaran, but the chrolonogy of the missions was already established in Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy: Prima's Official Strategy Guide and every JA-related article follows this convention. The fact that the Mission to Yalara is canon is indisputable. Cheers. Stake black 20:32, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

  • Sweet. Thanks for the clarification. --Eyrezer () 00:52, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Image request

Hello Eyrezer, do you happen to have "Poison Moon"? If so, would it be alright if you uploaded an image of Alysun Celz using Force lightning against Skywalker, and an image of Et Rex throwing a mynock at Celz? Thanks in advance.—Jedi Kasra 05:17, January 6, 2013 (UTC)

  • There is this and this. I hope they are big enough. --Eyrezer () 10:10, January 16, 2013 (UTC)

Request

Hey, Eyre. How're ya doing? I have a request for you.

Since we've now reached 100,000 articles, I'm planning on writing an article for Wookieepedia NewsNet reflecting on how we got this far by looking back at the earliest days of the Wook. To that end, I'm contacting as many of the oldest (unflattering term, I know. Sorry) Wookieepedians as possible and asking them to chime in.

This is (intentionally) a pretty broad question, but I'm wondering if you can tell me about your early experiences on the Wook and your impressions of what the site was like during its first couple years. Something longer than a soundbite but shorter than a short story, since I'm hoping to quote as many people as I can. Humor and wit are of course encouraged. If you're interested, go nuts, and if you're not, no worries. Thanks, and have a good day! Menkooroo (talk) 15:37, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Making a better "Timeline of media" revisited

Hi Eyrezer, I recently picked up where Morbus Iff left off a while ago on the Timeline of media revamp discussed here, to which you contributed. I'd appreciate your opinion on the near-finished project: User:Tainb'ocu'chulainn/Sandbox Timeline. The forum for the discussion is Forum:SH:Making a better Timeline of media: revisited. Thanks. Tainb'ocu'chulainn (talk) 20:31, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Online Atlas

Thanks Eyrezer, for updating the online atlas page. Glad to see they're back up. They were most definitely down earlier this year for a number of weeks at least. I checked a number of times and had assumed they were gone for good. Someone must have notified the authors and the links corrected. Rokkur Shen (talk) 12:24, March 1, 2013 (UTC)

  • No problem. The links to them were down at the bottom of the page as well, so could have been easy to overlook. --Eyrezer () 12:27, March 1, 2013 (UTC)

G8-R2???

Hey Eyrezer, I'm trying to confirm this droid's canonicity but can't seem to find the archived Q&A that confirms it. Since you created the page can you point me in the right direction? Rokkur Shen (talk) 08:00, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

  • I've had a quick look tonight, with no luck, I'm afraid. I was using this link here, which you might also like to try, be so far have been unable to the "Questions and Answers" section other than the "Ask the Jedi Council". I expect I would have called it that if that was its name, so it is a bit of a conundrum. --Eyrezer () 09:31, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Re: French

Oh, sorry Eyerezer, it seems that I overlooked your request among the large number of emails I received lately. Why yes, French is my mother tongue. I'll have a look at it immediately. ;) --LelalMekha (talk) 23:14, April 19, 2013 (UTC)

  • There you are: "Nevertheless you are, to your knowledge, the first of your race to ever shoot down TIE fighters in space combat, since the equipment was conceived for such strange species." I know that sentence doesn't sound too good in English, but it actually doesn't sound better in French either. It's a quite typical example of a writer trying to sound "posh" and failing at it. I rendered matériel as "equipment," but it depends on the context—could have been "hardware," "gear" or even "tools." Also, are you sure that the text says à votre connaissance (to your knowledge) and not à notre connaissance (to our knowledge)? If we want to be sure, I may need a bit of context. --LelalMekha (talk) 23:28, April 19, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Thranta Riders on Hyperspace

Hello Eyerezer. If I remember correctly, you used to be a subscriber to the Hyperspace online feature, right? I've been hoping to expand the Thranta Rider page some more, but two of the sources are (now lost) Hyperspace articles. Perhaps you've kept some kind of backup? Regards. --LelalMekha (talk) 00:07, May 2, 2013 (UTC)

  • Nope, sorry. I was never a subscriber. I don't remember those articles but I expect they were actually reprints of WEG material. - - Eyrezer () 10:33, May 2, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Bosph

Thanks for the heads up Eyrezer! I saw them pretty late the other night and meant to work on them but totally forgot. Replied to all of them now. Ayrehead02 (talk) 18:48, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

Two-headed species and unidentified cantina

Hey Eyerezer. At some point, I remember that you GA'd the article on that unidentified two-headed species. As with other articles pertaining to Yoda's Challenge Activity Center, we assumed that the two-headed patron attended an Unidentified Tatooine cantina|unidentified cantina. However, as you can see in that article, taht cantina looks exactly like Akim's Munch, down to the furniture. Wouldn't that be enough for a duck test? Cheers. --LelalMekha (talk) 12:52, May 15, 2013 (UTC)

  • Very interesting. I think that you are right! Good observation. --Eyrezer () 16:27, May 16, 2013 (UTC)

Ellespad

Well, sure, I guess! What do you think could be improved? I'm a little out of ideas. Cheers. Stake black 18:00, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi there! Sorry for the delay. I don't think I'll be able to contribute to the article, so feel free to improve it. I know as much as you about this subject, so there isn't much knowledge I can help with. Cheers. Stake black 15:31, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

Hantor Loftus gender

Hi Eyrezer. I take it you were the one did work on getting Hantor Loftus to good article status? I was just going through my TRE directory, and it appears that Hantor Loftus was actually a human woman, yet the article states Loftus was a man. Now I know there's no screenshot of Loftus, but did Loftus' other source, the N.R.I. Reports shed any definitive details on Loftus' characteristics? Thanks! StarsiderSWG (talk) 01:45, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

  • I'm travelling at the moment but will dig out primary sources once back home next month. Feel free to remind me though if it appears that I have forgotten come mid-July. --Eyrezer () 08:50, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

Re:Cragmoloid review request

Sure. :) JangFett 13:30, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

  • No problem man. JangFett 15:31, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

Categories in See also Section

Hello Eyrezer! I wanted to ask you a little question. User:Richterbelmont10 created a See also section with only links to Category pages for the Species article. I reverted his edit because it was put in the wrong place. Moreover, I thought this section only concerned related articles and not categories. Can we also use this section for Category pages? If so, I will add it again myself. Regards.--LennyF (talk) 09:47, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Lenny. I think you made the right decision there. --Eyrezer () 09:55, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

A Request for Another Wiki

Hi! I'm El Alamein, and I'm not from around this Wiki, but I'd like your expertise nonetheless. My Wiki is the Deadliest Fiction Wiki, which creates fights to the death between characters of fiction - and one I plan to host is General Grievous vs. Lord Voldemort of Harry Potter fame. One of the biggest topics of debate concerning this fight is magic vs. lightsabers. Lightsabers have been proven capable of deflecting lasers from blaster rifles and also other lightsabers, so the question is whether or not Grievous could protect himself with his lightsabers from a spell shot from Voldemort's wand. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could shed some light on the mysterious properties that physically make up lightsabers in the Star Wars universe to better assist us in our analysis. Thank you for your time. El Alamein (talk) 21:44, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

  • Sorry I'm not much of an expert on lightsabers. I suggest checking out the lightsaber article and going from there. --Eyrezer () 03:37, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Force-Activated lightsaber appearances

Hey, thanks for adding to the appearances section of Force-activated! Just out of curiosity, who from The Crystal Star used this modification?--Richterbelmont10 (talk) 01:27, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

  • Hethrir himself. It became a plot point as people could not use the Force on Crseih Station, so Hethrir was unable to ignite his lightsaber. --Eyrezer () 03:34, July 15, 2013 (UTC)

Carosite

  • Thanks Cade. Is this mission specific to any particular side or can it be for both Republic and Sith-allied players? --Eyrezer () 03:53, August 24, 2013 (UTC)

Attark

Hello Eyrezer, may I have whatever info is given for Attark by A Guide to the Star Wars Universe, Second Edition, Star Wars: Chronicles (doubt anything beyond the maquette, but maybe a maquette name and/or some quote?), Star Wars Encyclopedia, Star Wars: Behind the Magic, A Guide to the Star Wars Universe, Third Edition, Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide and "Who's Who in Jabba's Palace" — Star Wars Insider 60? Thanks in advance. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 15:16, August 16, 2013 (UTC)

  • I'm not sure I kept notes on this, but I can check once I get home - in a week or two. If it looks like I've forgotten, please feel free to remind me! --Eyrezer () 00:55, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

Obscure RPG scenarios/adventures

Hello Eyrezer. I see you were responsible for creating the Delta Wing trilogy page as well as the "On a Wing and a Prayer", "A Bird in the Hand", and "The Pirates' Nest" pages way back in May of 2009. I know this is a long shot but would you be able to shed any more light on these scenarios? Also, do you have any info on any of the red-linked scenarios on the RPGA page? Bo Shuda (talk) 05:56, December 9, 2013 (UTC)

Which Guide contains Raithal info?

Hi, Eyrezer. I just realized I never got an answer to this question. I know it's a long shot that you'd remember details of an edit you made four years ago, but do you happen to remember where you found this info? Thanks. Asithol (talk) 03:56, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

Planet Farfalla

Hey, Eyerezer. Just wanted to let you know something. I went to Twitter and asked this to Jason Fry: "Does the Farfalla system imply the existence of planet Farfalla? If yes, is it the crib of Lord Farfalla's Half-Bothan people?" His answer: "Yes, and yes that was the intent." --LelalMekha (talk) 10:03, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

Whoops, nope, it's about the element. Totally blanked when adding that. Sorry for the confusion. - Sir Cavalier of One 09:56, August 21, 2014 (UTC)

Makurth

Hello Eyrezer, I saw you were the original nominator for the Makurth article. Though I originally failed to notice this, the article fails to include the relevant bts info, found in Star Wars: Chronicles, about their intended inclusion in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedis Jabba's Palace scenes. The info can also be found here. Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 22:28, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

GA randomizer

Hello. At today's AgriCorps meeting, it was decided to deprecate Wookieepedia:Good articles/Random and replace it with a Lua module that parses WP:GA directly. As of this moment, User:Eyrezer/Sandpit is the last remaining transclusion of that page. I'm not sure if you're still using that page for any purpose, so I figured I'll give you the chance to handle it yourself if you choose to. If you want to update it to the new module, simply replace with . If you want to keep the old randomizer, I'd be happy to move it to a user subpage of yours, though it will no longer be updated. If you'd rather get rid of the sandpit, I'd be happy to delete it for you on request. I'll give you a few days to respond; if I don't get a response, Wookieepedia:Good articles/Random will be deleted sometime around the middle of next week. (And as a final note, this change is likely coming to the FA and CA randomizers as well before too long, though it's not ready for them yet.) 03:33, March 22, 2015 (UTC)

  • Cheers MJ. Removed. Have you ever seen the way that random articles are handled on WookieeProject: Aliens? I suggest it is more visually appealing, although there is more work behind the scenes. --~~

Re: Vendaran

I am sorry, but if an article is not fixed before the meeting, the article loses its status even if someone comes along afterward and fixes it before the paperwork is done. Feel free to nominate the article for status again.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 22:57, March 27, 2015 (UTC)
