Adampo was a Jedi Master within the Jedi Order, specifically a Yarkora, and served as a member of the esteemed Jedi High Council during the High Republic Era.
He was characterized by his blond hair and the long, white whiskers that hung from his chin. He would often stroke these whiskers while engaged in conversation. During a Council meeting where the Jedi Order's participation in the Galactic Republic's actions against the Nihil was debated, Adampo participated via hologram. Adampo spoke out against military intervention, arguing that the Jedi were not intended to be a military force. Master Oppo Rancisis countered his argument by reminding the Council that the Jedi had, in fact, served as a military force in the past, achieving victory in the Great Sith War. With ten of the eleven Masters having cast their votes, the decision resulted in a tie, leaving Jora Malli to make the final call. Ultimately, she decided to involve the Jedi in the Republic Defense Coalition's efforts.
Adampo possessed a scholarly nature and was known as an accomplished linguist. He supported Chancellor Lina Soh's initiative to construct science vessels for exploration in the Outer Rim and advocated for the establishment of archives within Jedi outpost [temples](/article/jedi_temple]. Initially a pacifist, he shifted his stance when it became evident that conflict with the Nihil was unavoidable.
Adampo made his debut appearance in the 2021 novel titled The High Republic: Light of the Jedi. Early versions of the novel used she/her pronouns to refer to the Jedi Master. However, following The High Republic: Into the Dark, which used he/him pronouns for Adampo, the e-book editions of Light of the Jedi were updated to reflect the character's correct pronouns.
