He took on the role of Jedi Master to Gavi, a human Jedi youngling, and was assigned to the Jedi temple located on Valo, a planet situated in the Outer Rim. During the year 230 BBY, Valo suffered an attack by the Nihil pirates, resulting in the death of Gavi's Master at the hands of a Nameless. These creatures sustained themselves by feeding on individuals Force-sensitives, turning them to stone, an event that the youngling observed. This experience deeply affected Gavi's link to the Force, instilling in him feelings of anxiety and fear.
