During the age of the High Republic, the Nihil pirate group assaulted the world of Valo. In the course of this assault, the Jedi youngling named Gavi saw his Jedi Master, Aebal, die at the hands of a Nameless; however, Gavi was able to flee and subsequently resided in the destroyed Lonisa City Zoo for a period of months together with other younglings Kildo and Tep Tep. Because of this assault, the Nihil took control of Valo, concealing it behind their Stormwall inside the Occlusion Zone.
