The Qiilura system's takeover, an operation executed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems in 20 BBY, aimed to seize control of the Qiilura system during the era of the Clone Wars. Consequently, Qiilura's location became a site of conflict. In an effort to thwart this takeover, the Galactic Republic dispatched an Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship, carrying soldiers from the 104th Battalion under the leadership of Clone Commander Wolffe to engage in the battle on Qiilura.
However, due to a series of destructive groundquakes that devastated the Mid Rim planet Aleen, the Acclamator, accompanied by three Pelta-class frigates, and Wolffe's clone troopers—along with protocol droid C-3PO and astromech droid R2-D2—were diverted to conduct a crucial relief operation on Aleen. The battalion had instructions to reunite with their Jedi General, Plo Koon, after completing the mission and after meeting with Jedi General Adi Gallia, who was also participating in the humanitarian effort, on board her Venator-class Star Destroyer.
The attempted annexation of the Qiilura system was referenced in the introductory news report of "Mercy Mission," the fifth installment of the fourth season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, which initially aired on October 7, 2011.
