The Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship represents a specific type of cruiser-class proto-Star Destroyer. It was also known by several other designations, including Acclamator-class Republic assault ship, Acclamator-class Planetary Assault Ship, Acclamator-class battleship, and Acclamator-class cruiser. This vessel was employed by the Galactic Republic to transport clone troopers throughout the galaxy. Its initial deployment occurred at the First Battle of Geonosis after it had conveyed the clone army from Kamino. Subsequently, it served to carry the Grand Army of the Republic from the capital Coruscant to various battle zones during the Clone Wars, a conflict where it played a significant role against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Rothana Heavy Engineering, a division of Kuat Drive Yards, was responsible for the development of the Acclamator-class assault ship. Serving as a precursor to later Star Destroyer designs, such as the Venator-class, the Acclamator-class was a key element of the clandestine construction program initiated by Darth Sidious (acting under the guise of orders from the Jedi High Council) to establish a Grand Army of the Republic. Its design featured a wide, arrowhead-shaped hull, with a single command and observation deck positioned towards the rear of the ship. A significant portion of the ship's interior was dedicated to cargo storage and accommodations for passengers. During the first battle of geonosis, Acclamators appeared in an unpainted gray color. However, after a certain period, most Acclamators were identifiable by a red stripe running through the center, accompanied by stripes along their sides. The Acclamator-class was equipped with sensors capable of long-range detection. While planetary defense forces had previously constructed larger vessels for patrolling local space, the Acclamator-class was remarkable as it signified the resurgence of genuinely transgalactic warships in the galaxy.
A series of electromagnetic thrust-vectoring sublight engines and exceptionally rapid Class .6 twin hyperdrive engines, managed by a navigation computer, propelled the Acclamator-class. It also included a Class 10 backup hyperdrive. The hyperdrives, along with neutrino radiators for the power system, were located in the ship's tail. The primary reactor was concealed deep within the ship's hull terraces and was fueled by condensed annihilation reactant, which was significantly denser than the ship itself. Tensorial integrity and inertial compensator field conduits extended throughout the ship's structure. The conning tower, situated towards the stern, housed the main sensor and communications array at the front, with the bridge and battle operations room located behind it.
The Acclamator-class required a crew of 700 officers and enlisted personnel. Although it did not carry starfighters, it could transport 320 speeder bikes, 66 Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry, 14 Low Altitude Assault Transport carriers, 48 AT-TEs, and 36 SPHA walkers. The Acclamator-class had the capacity to carry an entire legion of clone troopers, consisting of 9,000 combat troops and 6,000 personnel for HQ and support functions. Furthermore, the Acclamator could hold consumables sufficient for six months and 10,000 tons of cargo. Unlike many vessels of comparable size, the Acclamator-class could land on both ground and water surfaces, enabling it to deploy its complement of clone troopers and vehicles within a matter of hours. To support the ship's weight, a combination of antigravity repulsorlifts and landing pads were employed. Troops and vehicles could disembark from the main hanger via ramps extending from the sides or through an opening on the ventral side. Barracks for the majority of troops were situated near the dorsal terrace of the ship. LAAT gunships were transported on a circulating rail within the main hanger, with platforms available for maintenance and troop loading, while other combat vehicles were stored in dedicated service bays.
For defensive purposes, the Acclamator-class was encased in super-dispersive neutronium-impregnated armor, which provided significant resistance against Separatist fusion rockets. It was also protected by robust deflector shielding, with regional shield generator nodes distributed across the ship. However, as demonstrated during the Battle of Ryloth, J-1 proton cannons utilized by the Separatists could readily penetrate the shields of an Acclamator-class assault ship.
The Acclamator-class was armed with three quad light turbolaser batteries on each of the starboard and port sides, six forward quad light turbolaser batteries, twelve heavy laser cannons on each of the port and starboard sides, four proton torpedo launchers, and tractor beams. A series of point-defense laser cannons encircled the ship. These weapons allowed the vessel to perform various orbital bombardments in support of ground forces, ranging from precise targeted strikes to highly destructive Base Delta Zero bombardments.
During the Clone Wars, the Acclamator-class primarily served as a troop transport, but it also functioned secondarily as a warship. Designed to oversee ground movements and coordinate assaults, each clone trooper was equipped with a tracking device within their helmet. This device allowed controllers aboard Acclamator-class ships to develop a clearer understanding of the combat situation. Their adaptability and function as troop carriers proved vital throughout the Clone Wars.

The First Battle of Geonosis in 22 BBY, which marked the conclusion of the Separatist Crisis and the commencement of the Clone Wars, saw extensive employment of the Acclamator-class assault ship. On this occasion, twelve Acclamators from the Rothana assault ship fleet, including the Implacable, were deployed alongside Jedi Grand Master Yoda to Geonosis to aid the Jedi. These ships transported a total of 192,000 clone troopers, 1,600 Low Altitude Assault Transport/i gunships, 400 Low Altitude Assault Transport carriers, 100 Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery Turbolasers, and 2,160 All Terrain Tactical Enforcers, ultimately leading to a Republic victory.

Following the Battle of Geonosis, the Confederacy of Independent Systems established a blockade around the crystalline planet Christophsis as part of their efforts to seize control of the major hyperspace routes in the galaxy. However, after Republic forces, commanded by Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, breached the blockade, they found themselves trapped, weakened, and outnumbered on the planet's surface, where they fought against the army of Kerkoiden General Whorm Loathsom. During the battle, the Jedi contacted the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to request assistance, which led to the dispatch of Admiral Wurtz's fleet, under the command of Yoda and Admiral Wullf Yularen. This fleet comprised four Acclamator-class assault ships and three Venator-class Star Destroyers.
Following their triumph at Christophsis, Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano were sent to the planet Teth aboard an Acclamator-class assault ship with the mission to rescue Rotta, the Huttlet son of crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure.

Later, during the Battle of Ryloth, after Skywalker and his fleet of three Venators successfully breached the Separatist blockade orbiting the planet, the Republic deployed an invasion fleet of three Acclamators under the command of Generals Mace Windu and Kenobi, which then prepared to descend onto the planet. However, as the three assault ships were landing, the Separatists employed J-1 proton cannons to target the invasion fleet. They managed to penetrate the deflector shield of one of the assault ships, destroying one of its engines and causing the damaged vessel to plummet to the surface. This forced the remaining two ships to abort their landing and instead dispatch several LAAT/i gunships to destroy the cannons on the surface.
Kenobi, leading the 212th Attack Battalion's Ghost Company, soon succeeded in destroying the proton cannons after navigating through the Twi'lek settlement of Nabat. This allowed the remaining ships to land on the surface, enabling the Republic to liberate Ryloth from the Confederacy's occupation.

Later, during the second year of the war, the Republic discovered that the Confederacy, with assistance from the Trade Federation and the InterGalactic Banking Clan, was establishing a new droid factory on Geonosis. Consequently, they returned to the desert world with a substantial fleet of ten Acclamators and six Venators, under the command of Generals Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Luminara Unduli, Skywalker, and Jedi Commanders Tano and Barriss Offee, with the objective of destroying the factory and reclaiming the planet from the Confederacy.
Upon exiting hyperspace, the Acclamators descended onto the planet's surface. The Jedi Generals boarded their gunships, while a fleet of carriers delivered All Terrain Tactical Enforcers to the ground. This ultimately resulted in the costly destruction of the factory and the capture of Geonosian Archduke Poggle the Lesser by the end of the battle.

At a later time, after Separatist forces under the command of Kaleesh Separatist General Grievous captured Jedi Master Eeth Koth aboard his Star Destroyer, the Republic dispatched Generals Kenobi and Skywalker, along with his fleet, to the planet Saleucami. Grievous and his fleet were awaiting their arrival there, with the intent of rescuing General Koth from the Separatists. Despite successfully rescuing Koth from the enemy flagship, Grievous managed to escape his doomed vessel to the planet's surface. An Acclamator-class assault ship was then deployed to land Republic ground forces to locate and defeat the Kaleesh general. However, Grievous once again managed to escape Saleucami and the Republic aboard a Sheathipede-class transport shuttle.

At a later point, the Republic discovered that Kaleesh Separatist General Grievous and the Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress were planning to launch a second attack on the cloning planet of Kamino after their initial attempts failed earlier in the war. Their goal was to destroy the cloning facilities to shift the war's balance in favor of the Confederacy. In response, the 501st Legion, under the command of Generals Skywalker and Kenobi, departed for Kamino and were deployed to the planet aboard an Acclamator to reinforce Tipoca City against the impending attack. The Acclamator later participated in the battle with the Republic's blockade, where it engaged Grievous's fleet above the planet.
Later in the war, an Acclamator-class assault ship fought alongside Anakin Skywalker's fleet in the Battle of Sullust against Ventress's Separatist fleet. This resulted in the destruction of Skywalker's flagship, the Venator-class Star Destroyer Resolute.

After the government of the planet Umbara seceded from the Republic in 20 BBY, following the death of Senator Mee Deechi, who represented the planet in the Galactic Senate, and aligned themselves with the Confederacy, a Separatist blockade was established. However, this blockade was later engaged by a fleet consisting of three Venators and three Acclamators. One of the Acclamators managed to reach the planet's surface after breaching the blockade, deploying ground forces to engage the native Umbaran combatants.

Later on the planet Kiros, Separatist forces under Zygerrian Darts D'Nar and Count Dooku arrived and proceeded to capture and transport all Togruta colonists to the planet Kadavo. Shortly after the Separatist invasion, Republic forces under Generals Kenobi and Skywalker arrived on the planet, utilizing an Acclamator-class assault ship to deploy ground forces against the Separatist Droid Army.
Sometime later on Naboo, Republic forces, with the intention of ensuring Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine's safety against a plot devised by Separatist Head of State Count Dooku to capture the Chancellor, dispatched Generals Windu and Skywalker, along with his Padawan, aboard an Acclamator-class assault ship to Naboo. The ship was transporting several All Terrain Tactical Enforcers and squads of clone troopers.
Following a series of devastating groundquakes that struck the planet Aleen, the Republic received a distress signal from the native Aleena requesting assistance. Consequently, Clone Commander Wolffe and the clones of the 104th Battalion were dispatched with a lone Acclamator-class assault ship and three Pelta-class frigates to deliver relief supplies and install new equipment in their communications center.
Later in the final year of the war, Republic forces under the command of Generals Skywalker, Tiplar and Tiplee, engaged Separatist forces led by Harch Admiral Trench at the planet Ringo Vinda. The Republic employed a blockade from the Open Circle Fleet consisting of twenty Venator-class Star Destroyers, an Arquitens-class light cruiser, three Consular-class cruisers and a single Acclamator-class assault ship against Trench's fleet, while the Jedi and their clone forces engaged the Separatist Droid Army on the Ringo Vinda space station.
At some point during the war, Republic and Separatist forces fought in the Ruusan system. The Republic's forces, which included at least one Venator, one Acclamator, and at least two Low Altitude Assault Transports, battled against at least one Lucrehulk-class Battleship. Approximately 3 ABY during the Imperial Era, the Nautolan bounty hunter Nakano Lash concealed herself within the wreckage of the battle.
By the time of the Imperial Era, the Acclamator-class assault ship was regarded as an outdated model. The remains of an Acclamator were left in the Wastelands of Kullgroon. Despite the ship model's age, at least one, the Lodestar, remained in service during the Galactic Civil War, functioning as the flagship of New Republic General Hera Syndulla's Barma Battle Group.

The Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship made its debut in the 2002 episodic film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Initially known as the "Jedi troop transport," the starship's triangular shape was deliberately designed as a homage to the Imperial Star Destroyers featured in the original trilogy. Its official identification occurred later in the 2015 canon reference book, Star Wars: Ships of the Galaxy, written by Benjamin Harper.
