A primary droid foundry served as a factory for battle droids on the planet of Geonosis during the Clone Wars. In 21 BBY, it was ultimately demolished by Jedi Padawans Barriss Offee and Ahsoka Tano.
During the Clone Wars in 21 BBY, a secret new droid foundry was funded on Geonosis by Senators Rush Clovis representing the InterGalactic Banking Clan, Lott Dod from the Trade Federation, and the Geonosian Archduke Poggle the Lesser. This conflict was between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. However, Padmé Amidala, a Senator, uncovered a hologram exposing the factory's presence during her diplomatic mission to Cato Neimoidia. Amidala managed to secure both the hologram and the factory's tactical coordinates, which she then provided to the Jedi Council. This intelligence enabled the Galactic Republic to plan military actions against the foundry.
When the Republic attacked Geonosis and took down the ray shield generator that was protecting the factory, Poggle and his tactical droid, TX-21, assumed control of the facility. By the time the Republic forces arrived at the Factory, Poggle had prepared ten garrisons of B1-series battle droids for deployment. Furthermore, twenty new super tanks had been deployed. Poggle sent the garrisons and super tanks to fight against the Jedi General Luminara Unduli's 41st Elite Corps and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker's 501st Legion. Meanwhile, Barriss Offee and Ahsoka Tano, who were Jedi Commanders, successfully infiltrated the factory through the catacombs and placed explosives on the factory's central generator. Regrettably, a Geonosian informed Poggle and TX-21 about this, and they deployed a super tank to intercept them. While the Jedi commanders managed to eliminate the super tank drivers, the Geonosians recovered the bombs. Offee and Tano then made the decision to utilize the super tank to obliterate the generator and the entire factory. They survived the resulting explosion and were subsequently rescued by their respective masters.
