A conflict, a battle, unfolded on the planet of Kiros amidst the Clone Wars. It pitted the combined forces of the Confederate and Zygerrian occupiers against a Galactic Republic intervention force.
Back in 20 BBY, the Togrutan Artisan colony situated on Kiros opted to maintain neutrality throughout the widespread Clone Wars. Nevertheless, the Confederacy of Independent Systems in conjunction with the Zygerrian Slave Empire made the choice to invade and occupy Kiros. Witnessing the commencement of the invasion, Governor Gupat Roshti reached out to Yoda, the Grand Master of the Jedi Council's, seeking assistance. Yoda pledged to dispatch aid and cautioned him against trusting Count Dooku, who was present with his military units.

Following the conclusion of the communication between Roshti and Yoda, Droid Army soldiers emerged from their landing crafts. Subsequently, Dooku, accompanied by a tactical droid and Zygerrian Commander Darts D'Nar, disembarked from the YV-865 Aurore-class freighter, known as Tecora. Together, they convened with Governor Roshti. Dooku reassured him that the situation was a peaceful occupation, not an invasion. He then proposed sanctuary for Roshti and his people, away from the conflict. Roshti, perceiving no alternative, accepted Dooku's proposition. The truth was that Dooku had forged an alliance between the Confederacy and the Zygerrians' Slave Empire with the intention of providing them with slaves. Consequently, D'Nar directed the Droid Army to gather all of Kiros' inhabitants. D'Nar then arranged for all the Togrutas to be transported to Zygerria, where they were to be auctioned into slavery at Queen Miraj Scintel's slave auction. D'Nar was subsequently placed in charge of the Droid Army's occupying force, establishing his headquarters within the Governor's tower.
After ten planetary rotations, the Republic's military contingent, under the command of Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, Clone Commander "Cody," and Captain "Rex," arrived. The Republic forces then touched down on the planet's surface. As the Republic landing ship completed its descent, the Republic forces deployed AT-TEs, AT-RTs, and their infantry. The Jedi and their troops then initiated their ground offensive. Kenobi, Skywalker, Tano, and Rex then led a portion of their forces on BARC speeders toward the Governor's tower. Collaboratively, they successfully eliminated numerous commando droids riding Flitknot Speeder Bikes along with the AATs and the remaining battle droids. Captain Rex managed to obliterate the final tank with his missile launcher.

However, while en route to the tower, Rex and Tano noticed the absence of any civilians. They found this to be suspicious, considering the Droid Army's history of utilizing hostages, as they had during the Ryloth Campaign. As their troops encircled the tower, Commander Cody received a communication from D'Nar, who expressed a desire to discuss surrender terms with Kenobi. Nevertheless, Skywalker disapproved of D'Nar's identity as a Zygerrian slave trader and preferred to handle the situation personally. However, Kenobi insisted that he should abide by D'Nar's request. Kenobi then instructed Skywalker to contact Admiral Yularen and initiate a bio-scan to locate the colonists. Kenobi then entered the tower, leaving his com-link active for Skywalker to monitor his conversation with D'Nar.
Upon entering the tower's office, Kenobi interrupted D'Nar's meeting with Dooku and Prime Minister Atai Molec, who expressed surprise that he had not yet departed. Following Dooku's introduction of Kenobi to Molec and D'Nar, he demanded that Kenobi be brought before him in submission. D'Nar then demanded that Kenobi surrender. He informed Kenobi of the placement of thermal annihilator bombs throughout the city. He threatened to detonate them, resulting in the deaths of anyone in close proximity. D'Nar then instructed his tactical droid to detonate one near the Republic forces.
Skywalker then halted the bio-scan and directed R2-D2 to scan for bombs. Kenobi then diverted D'Nar's attention by feigning surrender. D'Nar contemplated killing Kenobi as retribution for the Jedi's dismantling of their slave empire but acknowledged that Dooku preferred him alive. Kenobi then proposed a duel to D'Nar, adhering to Zygerrian customs and foregoing the use of his lightsaber. Consequently, the two engaged in unarmed combat.

Skywalker and Tano, utilizing a pair of AT-RTs, proceeded to disarm the bombs with their lightsabers. The battle droids attempted to notify D'Nar of this development, but their efforts were thwarted when Kenobi destroyed his projector. As Skywalker and Tano prepared to disarm the final two bombs in a courtyard, they were ambushed by several super battle droids. They found themselves pinned down by a pair of Droideka Sharpshooters.
Skywalker and Tano were unable to penetrate their shields. However, they noticed the droids' vulnerability on their flanks. Working together, they successfully destroyed the droids and disarmed the last two bombs. As D'Nar gained the upper hand in his fight against Kenobi, the tactical droid presented him with a message from his battle droids, informing him that all the bombs had been disarmed. D'Nar then seized the detonator and attempted to activate the bombs, but to no avail. Kenobi then eliminated the commando droids and retrieved his lightsaber. Kenobi then offered him the chance to surrender once more. D'Nar refused and decided to detonate the last bomb, which was attached to the back of the tactical droid. As the bomb was about to explode, D'Nar made his escape. Kenobi hurled the tactical droid out of the tower, and the droid was destroyed in the bomb's explosion.
Kenobi then informed Skywalker and Tano that D'Nar was fleeing to his ship, the Tecora. As D'Nar began to take off, Skywalker and Tano utilized the AT-RTs to reach the ship. Skywalker managed to damage one of the Tecora's engines. D'Nar then spotted the two Jedi and decided to unleash his pet, a Blixus, upon them. Skywalker then engaged the creature in combat while Ahsoka stabilized the ship. Tano then proceeded to the cockpit, where she encountered D'Nar. The two fought until Ahsoka subdued him. Skywalker then succeeded in killing the Blixus. Skywalker then entered the cockpit and demanded the location of the Togrutas. Initially, D'Nar refused until Skywalker held his lightsaber to his neck. D'Nar then revealed that his queen was planning to hold a slave auction on Zygerria.
Following D'Nar's capture and the destruction of the Droid Army occupation force, Kiros was liberated. However, the colonists remained missing. Admiral Yularen confirmed that they were not on the planet. Skywalker, Kenobi, Tano, and Yularen reported this to the Jedi Council. Master Plo Koon believed that the Zygerrians were exploiting the Confederacy to rebuild their Slave Empire. Consequently, Kenobi, Skywalker, Tano, and Rex embarked on a mission to Zygerria in an attempt to locate the colonists. The Republic then returned the colonists to Kiros after rescuing them from Kadavo.
