In the era of 3643 BBY, a year marked by the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the revived Sith Empire, the Imperial Military launched an attack to gain control of the Power Guard recruitment center situated within the Nikto Sector of the moon known as Nar Shaddaa. This operation was initiated under the command of Sith Lord Sadic, who aimed to secure the Republic's Power Guard supersoldier project as part of Darth Angral's campaign of retribution against the Republic. After extracting the location of the center through the torture of the operative overseeing the project, Sadic's forces successfully invaded the facility, detaining both the recruiter, Vell Narroc, and the prospective recruits. Under Sadic's directives, Imperial forces commenced the transportation of the project's volunteers to the project lab for experimental procedures. Subsequently, a young Jedi Knight led a liberation effort, yet most of the refugees had been removed by that time.
The initial reference to the recruitment center's capture appeared in the Jedi Knight class mission titled "The Search for Agent Galen" within Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing video game published by BioWare in 2011.
