Bastatha existed as a planet located within the Bastatha system found in the Inner Rim. After the Galactic Civil War, and independent of the New Republic during those years, Bastatha transformed into a safe place for organized crime. On this planet, the Kajain'sa'Nikto crime lord Rinnrivin Di operated his cartel. The surface of Bastatha was extremely hot because its red giant star superheated it, which meant that all life, with the exception of certain bacteria, was required to inhabit underground caverns and tunnel systems. Because of the intense heat, the people living on Bastatha usually chose to eat chilled foods.
