Battle of Ferrok Pax

A clash occurred on the planetary body Ferrok Pax involving the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, known by the moniker Twilight Company, against an enemy force that had taken rebel soldiers as prisoners. The journey to the confrontation resulted in significant troop losses for Twilight Company. Despite the heavy casualties, the company emerged victorious in the ensuing battle, but only thirty-seven soldiers remained. Gadren, a Besalisk who fought in the battle, later shared his recollections of the campaign with Hazram Namir, the acting commander of Twilight Company, in the year 3 ABY.

The battle

Sometime around 1 BBY, the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, famously known as Twilight Company, was sent to the planetary object Ferrok Pax to liberate captured rebels held by an enemy group. To maintain the element of surprise, the soldiers of Twilight Company, originally numbering less than two hundred, undertook a surface trek through the ruins for several days to outflank their adversaries. However, as their supplies dwindled, many troops died due to starvation and exhaustion. Others disappeared due to alien technology or fell victim to creatures lurking in the area. When Twilight Company finally engaged the enemy warriors, they secured victory and rescued the captured rebels, although only thirty-seven members of the company survived the ordeal.

Aftermath

Following the events on Ferrok Pax, Micha Evon, the founder and commanding officer of Twilight Company, worked to rebuild the unit. Mon Mothma, the leader of the Alliance, deemed the battle of Ferrok Pax a particularly costly engagement and documented her assessment in "Short Notes on the History of the Rebel Alliance Navy," a file within her personal records. She cited the 61st's losses as a prime example of the high cost, in terms of lives, of deploying infantry, thereby highlighting the importance of maintaining a strong Rebel Alliance Navy. Gadren, the Besalisk veteran of the battle, frequently recalled his experiences on Ferrok Pax and recounted the events to Hazram Namir, the acting leader of Twilight Company, while they were on the junker world of Heap Nine in 3 ABY. Gadren used the story to illustrate that Namir was apprehensive about the sacrifices his company had made during the ongoing Operation Ringbreaker and the sacrifices that were yet to come, adding that Evon had used sacrifice as a strength to benefit the company and its goal.
