Battle of The Keeper's World

The conflict known as the battle of Keeper's World unfolded as a mobile engagement, transitioning from the space surrounding Keeper's World to the planet's terrain. Leia Organa, a Princess, along with Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, and R2-D2, found themselves spared from capture or worse when they encountered The Keeper. This entity orchestrated a deception, simulating the group's demise and compelling the Imperial forces to withdraw.

Initial Stages

In the aftermath of the Battle of Yavin, the Alliance to Restore the Republic grew concerned about potential surprise offensives launched by the Galactic Empire. Recognizing the importance of secure communication between Rebel outposts to thwart such attacks, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa received orders to travel to the Akuria Rebel Base situated on Akuria II. C-3PO and R2-D2 accompanied them, the former to facilitate communication with any droids present on Akuria II, and the latter to provide navigational assistance to their scout craft through hyperspace.

Regrettably, R2-D2 experienced a malfunction stemming from damage sustained during the Battle of Yavin, causing a deviation from their intended course. Consequently, they emerged from hyperspace within the Keeper's World system, where they stumbled upon an Imperial battle group comprised of several Imperial-class Star Destroyers. Their presence was quickly detected by a Star Destroyer, and the vessel's commanding officer issued an order to seize the Rebel vessel.

The Engagement

Despite his earlier malfunction, R2-D2's calculations, combined with Luke Skywalker's exceptional piloting abilities, enabled the Rebel scout ship to successfully evade the tractor beams emanating from the Star Destroyers. However, this escape came at a cost, as the ship sustained significant damage and ultimately crash-landed on Keeper's World.

Initially, Luke Skywalker and his fellow Rebels held the belief that their presence on Keeper's World, an uncharted planet, might offer them refuge from Imperial pursuit. Nevertheless, the Imperials promptly detected the wreckage of the scout ship. Subsequently, the Imperial commander dispatched a contingent of Stormtroopers to the planet's surface with the objective of either capturing or eliminating the Rebels. This action led to a running skirmish across the planet's landscape, as the Rebels sought to outmaneuver the pursuing Stormtroopers. The presence of the two droids hampered the Rebels' mobility, forcing them to seek shelter within a ruined temple.

A peculiar device transported the Rebels to the temple's interior, where they discovered that the planet was not as devoid of inhabitants as they had initially assumed. They encountered the enigmatic androids Fire, Rain, Wind, and Earth, along with their creator, The Keeper. The Keeper was an ancient computer entrusted with the task of restoring the war-torn world to its former state in anticipation of the return of the planet's original inhabitants.

Concerned that the ongoing conflict might disrupt her mission, the Keeper provided refuge to the Rebels while simultaneously triggering a devastating groundquake. This event not only convinced the Imperials that the Rebels had perished but also compelled them to abandon the planet altogether.

Consequences

The Imperials remained unaware of the Keeper's existence, attributing the groundquakes to natural phenomena and deeming the planet unstable. The Imperial commander issued a warning to all Imperial units, advising them to avoid the planet in the future for their own safety. Meanwhile, on the planet's surface, the Keeper repaired the Rebel scout ship, enabling the Rebels to resume their journey to Akuria II and allowing the Keeper to continue her long-term mission of restoring the planet for its creators.
