An Imperial officer, whose identity remains unknown, was in command of a squadron of Imperial-class Star Destroyers and later led a squad of Stormtroopers during the events of the Battle of The Keeper's World.
In 0 ABY, the Imperial officer held command of a fleet of Imperial-class Star Destroyers within the Keeper's World system. A Imperial Navy trooper detected an unidentified starship that refused to identify itself. The officer correctly deduced it was a Rebel vessel and gave the order for its capture. Unbeknownst to him, the ship carried key figures of the Rebellion: Princess Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, and R2-D2. While the Rebel ship managed to break free of the Imperial tractor beams, the damage sustained caused it to crash-land on Keeper's World nearby. The officer then deployed a team of Stormtroopers aboard a single landing craft to pursue the Rebels planet-side. Upon discovering that the Rebels had abandoned their crashed ship, the officer initiated a pursuit. The Rebels' progress was slowed by the presence of droids, enabling the officer and his Stormtroopers to corner them within the remains of an ancient temple. Despite being offered the chance to surrender, the Rebels instead activated a teleportal, transporting themselves into the caverns below. The officer quickly learned how to operate the teleportal, only to find the Rebels had gained new allies: peculiar androids capable of manipulating the elements of Earth, Fire, Rain, and Wind. The resulting elemental assault forced the officer and his Stormtroopers to seek cover. By the time they emerged, the Rebels and their new allies had disappeared.
The officer resumed the hunt, employing heat detectors to locate the Rebels. Following them to a large cavern, the officer and his Stormtroopers witnessed the chamber's destruction in an explosion, signaling the planet's increasing instability. Convinced that the Rebels could not have survived, the officer ordered a retreat from the collapsing caverns.
However, the officer was unaware that the planet was under the control of an ancient computer intelligence known as The Keeper. The Keeper had orchestrated the planetary upheaval, halting it only after the Imperials had retreated. Furthermore, she shielded the Rebels from the explosion and subsequent cataclysm. Oblivious to this, and believing the Rebels to be dead and the planetary cataclysm a natural event, the officer returned to his fleet. His objective was to inform Imperial High Command about the planet's hazardous nature, warning all Imperial forces to avoid it in the future.
The Imperial officer exemplified many of the qualities expected of an Imperial commander. He demonstrated decisiveness, issuing clear instructions to his subordinates, and was equally proficient in leading Stormtroopers on the ground and commanding Star Destroyers in space. He relentlessly pursued Rebels, but wasn't driven by excessive brutality. He generally favored capturing Rebels over killing them, if possible. However, he was not sentimental and would choose to kill Rebels rather than allow them to escape. After repeated setbacks, he became more inclined to use lethal force, instructing his Stormtroopers to shoot to kill if a chase continued for too long. He consistently provided timely reports to Imperial High Command and felt confident enough in his position to issue warnings and advisories to all Imperial units.
His primary weakness was a tendency to assume that a likely outcome had actually occurred. For example, he presumed the Rebels were dead without confirming their deaths, instead simply reporting them as missing.
He frequently used the term "fool" as an insult, directing it towards both Rebels and subordinates who failed to understand the obvious, such as when a groundquake created a dangerous situation for his troops in a cavern.
